Boring,, No lgbt representation, Gaga and Ricky part was too short and boring. Overall, a real snoozer. It’s a shame cause bad bunny could’ve done so much with this

Are you kidding? The entire thing was so defiant for the white supremacists that were losing their minds. So much Puerto Rican pride, no English spoken, and showing a culture loudly and happily living their best lives in spite of it all. As for LGBT, there were two male dancers fully grinding on each other, and he brought out two gay icons, Gaga who couldn’t be more on an ally, and Ricky, definitely the biggest Latino gay pop star of all time. This moment in history is not just about LGBT, it’s about the absolute war on other cultures in the US. BB completely met the moment in my opinion and did an incredible job.

Fr, the energy and staging were really great. He wasn’t kidding when he said the vibe was gonna be like a party

His album will be on replay for the next month now :stupidoreo:

Tbh, I don't like his voice at all but it was a fun show :huntyga: Maybe you didn't like it that much and that's ok but it was definitely better than what men have been doing in the Super Bowl these past few years :cheeky:

I don’t listen to his music but it was such a cultural moment. I’m very happy for him and what he’s doing with the power he has right now.

It was definitely a much better show than Maroon 5 and Justin Timberlake.

Ricky Martin is literally a gay Latino man and had a huge book about his struggle coming out. Dafuq.

Y'all need to......expand your idea....of queerness. I'll say it that way.

I think alot of people saying it was meh just don't know spanish. It was actually very hype and what he said was 110% more inspirational and attention getting than what alot of previous performers said. It was hopeful and positive and colorful. It only seemed "meh" because you weren't hearing what he was saying.

Not to be that bitch but also to be that bitch: check your white privilege.

This might be an example of classic cultural ethnocentrism. Judging another culture’s expression using your own cultural standards.

And this is where even liberals fall short. And yes I'm gonna call you diet democrats out because we already know the republicans were off in delulu land supporting Kid Flop.

A lot of self-identified progressive people still unconsciously expect everything to be legible to them. They support diversity in theory, but in practice, if they can’t immediately decode it, emotionally access it, or hear it in English, they downgrade it. That’s what sociologists call implicit bias mixed with cultural capital. If you don’t possess the cultural tools to interpret something, you’re more likely to dismiss it!!

It only felt meh if you weren’t hearing what he was saying or understanding the cultural language he was speaking in. Sometimes the issue isn’t the performance. It’s that not everything is centered around white comprehension, and that discomfort gets mistaken for critique.

Huh? I saw a bunch of people dancing together, I did not see one same sex couple represented.

Yeah, so Ricky Martin became heterosexual just because you don't saw it with another men 🤣

It's just because he loves her. He wanted his queen to be on stage with him and its adorable.
