I was shocked to see that there was almost none of the big rock bands that are considered classics now. They were nominated in several now discontinued categories and they infamously lost because they were misunderstood at the time. Queen (and Freddy mostly) were consistently scrutinised for not being rock enough for hardcore rock fanatics after the death of disco, but called too rock by pop fans. Also criticised by both sides for being theatrical (sound familiar?). This is why I will die on the hill that Gaga is the spiritual successor of Freddy and not Madonna.
