Essentially put the federal government in charge of elections instead of the states. It would give him so much more power to tamper and falsify elections.

I’m pretty sure wasn’t he gonna push to allow presidents to have more terms? I fully see a scenario where he legit has to get arrested and escorted out of the White House lmao

Also can anyone explain what he means by Nationalise? Isn’t an election already that? In the sense that the whole nation votes not just one state? Also I presume it’s the same in the US as it is in the UK where it’s actually illegal and impossible to vote if you’re an illegal immigrant since in the UK you have to register to vote and it goes off your National Insurance number thus proving you’re a real person etc

The United States is literally a "Union of States".

Technically speaking, even our presidential elections are actually 50 independent elections and traditionally, states have the power to challenge or even overrule the federal government. He wants to strip states of their right to control their own elections.

Likely because even a few red states have Democratic governors and representatives who will partner with normal Republicans (of which there are plenty on the local and state level) to run legitimate elections.

Which is all very ironic since the core of the Republican party is meant to be about making government smaller. This would be the single largest expansion in the federal government's power in American history if he were allowed to somehow do it. Which he can't

I don't think this is serious on its face. Between now and November, Trump and his cronies will be 'flooding the zone' and this is part of it.
