Do you think they are true? Also do we have any evidence of a collab other than a random story The Weeknd made with Gagas photo?

 

Also we know what happened the last time 2 Millenial artists that are both in top 4 or 5 monthly listeners on spotify collaborated. We got Smash With A Smile, literally the biggest commercial hit since Blinding Lights (if not arguably bigger)

 

May I remin yall, The Weeknd is also consistently in the top 4 on spotify for monthly listeners. Imagine the hit that would be

I honestly don’t think it would’ve come up twice in the Apple Music interview if it weren’t legit. You know her team is pre-screening the questions beforehand and the rumors being included makes me think they’re trying to build hype.

I think she’s definitely collaborated with him because based on her reaction on Zane Lowe and the fact he brought it up and they both sort of smile and chuckle (plus the fact Abel has for years posted random pics of her with no context).
 

I also predict it’s the song Moroder is probably making with her too, whether it’s for her next album or Abel’s who knows or heck it could even be for Moroder’s next album

I know people who have interviewed her many times over the years (as have I), and this isn’t anything she does. She is an open book and will say if something is off the record and trusts you to respect that, otherwise they’ll just cut it from being published before hand.

But aside from that, The Weeknd has already stated he was done doing features with other artists back in 2023, and he hasn’t done any outside of songs that were previously recorded. He will still work with people on his own albums, but given his most recent one was his final release as The Weeknd, it’s unlikely that he’s working on anything to follow it up.

Even if the mention itself wasn’t calculated/premeditated (which I still don’t fully buy), the inclusion of it in the interview still feels deliberate.

I mean, maybe she’s manifesting. But I don’t think it’s that deep, really. It being brought up was because of all the fan buzz online. 99% of the time with interviews like that (aka fluff) your job is to try and get something that’ll generate clicks.

Eh, I think they spent an inordinate amount of time on it if it’s allegedly nothing. Also he’s mentioned her enough time where there’s really no need for her “manifest.” He’s obviously interested and I personally think it’s plausible they collabed and that the track is probably coming soon-ish.
