I mean her whole bony chestplate is on display. I think she's wearing this 'matronly' garb because like OP said she is gunning VERY hard for the Audrey Hepburn biopic role. She's even been styling her hair like Audrey and I swear she's trying to immitate her mannerisms and facial expressions.
