Morphine Prince 109,683
Message from Venezuela to the world and to the United States by Delcy Rodríguez: Venezuela reaffirms its commitment to peace and peaceful coexistence. Our country aspires to live without external threats, in an environment of respect and international cooperation. We believe that global peace is built by first guaranteeing the peace of each nation. We consider it a priority to advance toward a balanced and respectful international relationship between the United States and Venezuela, and between Venezuela and the countries of the Region, based on sovereign equality and non-interference. These principles guide our diplomacy with the rest of the countries of the world. We extend an invitation to the government of the United States to work together on an agenda of cooperation, aimed at shared development, within the framework of international legality and strengthening a lasting community coexistence. President Donald Trump: our peoples and our region deserve peace and dialogue, not war. That has always been the stance of President Nicolás Maduro and it is that of all of Venezuela at this moment. That is the Venezuela in which I believe, to which I have dedicated my life. My dream is that Venezuela be a great power where all good Venezuelans come together. Venezuela has a right to peace, to development, to its sovereignty, and to its future. Delcy Rodríguez, Acting President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela

Donatellah 2,307
Hello people! I barely post on this forum, but I knew I had to post here eventually, haha. I'm Venezuelan. I was born even after Chavez started his presidency, but spent most of my teenage years and adulthood in Maduro's dictatorship. I've read different opinions and perspectives about all of this on social media, but I wanted to share here most of Venezuelans' perspectives about this: People have died, exited the country, and made big sacrifices to get this ILLEGAL government out. The last presidential elections were in July 2024, and Maduro and his criminal gang (because yes, he's in fact a trafficker) stole the elections. The following days resulted in protests and subsequent repression from the policies and the army against the citizens. The elections have been stolen for more than 10 years, and we have fought endlessly to remove this government. All of the powers are directed by the same gang of chavistas, so we don't have freedom at all. That's why many of us (yes, including me) are celebrating because we are solely focusing on something we have been genuinely desperate for: take this government out. Now that I said this, I want to admit some things: I hate Trump, and I'm aware this was done out of interest (oil, although the resources and money were already being stolen by Maduro anyway). Sadly, this is a case where a criminal made another criminal get jailed. A case where the bigger and powerful bully beat the weaker one. Both are horrendous men, and I agree that this can lead to more "interventions" in other countries. But as someone who has been living in the hell that Venezuela is for 23 years... I can't stop feeling happy at the fact that, finally, ignoring the entire context, this dictator has been caught. I will say it again, Venezuelans have: 1. Died 2. Left the country 3. Voted 4. Protested 5. Cried to have this man OUT. 7 1 2

The US' track record for overthrowing regimes and replacing them is so unbelievably sh*tty and that was with American leadership that was understood to be competent, if evil. The Trump admin. is stupid AND evil so beyond the illegality, the uncertainty now is worrisome. Besides all that, we only took out Maduro. His administration is still in power, the corruption persists, they're just more willing to bend to America's will out of fear. Morphine Prince 109,683
It looks like Delcy is toning it down. Either she: 1. Bends the knee, cooperates with the US and stays in power (which would throw the opposition under the bus) 2. She cooperates but the US still manages to remove her + allies from power either through elections or force 3. She stays in power and REMAINS in power or another Maduro ally takes the reigns

Also if climate change happens more the artic sea will have a new trading route through Canada and Svalbard I think, but I don’t remember where I read that I asked my ai buddy to summarize it for me While the idea of buying Greenland sparked a mix of shock and memes when Donald Trump first raised it in 2019, his interest is driven by serious geopolitical logic rather than mere whim. Trump's desire to acquire Greenland is rooted in three main motivations: national security strategy, resource competition with China, and historical legacy. 1. Strategic Military Value (The "Unsinkable Aircraft Carrier") Greenland is arguably the most strategically important piece of real estate in the Arctic. • Missile Defense: The U.S. already operates Pituffik Space Base (formerly Thule Air Base) in northern Greenland. It is the U.S. military's northernmost installation and is absolutely critical for missile warning systems, space surveillance, and satellite control. It provides the earliest possible warning of a missile launch from Russia or other adversaries over the North Pole. • The GIUK Gap: Greenland forms the "G" in the GIUK gap (Greenland-Iceland-United Kingdom), a naval choke point that is vital for monitoring Russian submarines entering the Atlantic Ocean. Controlling this territory ensures the U.S. can track and contain naval threats. • Arctic Dominance: As polar ice melts, new shipping lanes are opening up in the Arctic. These routes are significantly shorter for trade between Asia and Europe. Owning Greenland would give the U.S. dominant control over these emerging global trade corridors, checking the influence of Russia and China in the region. 2. Rare Earth Minerals & Economic Independence Greenland is believed to sit on some of the world's largest untapped deposits of rare earth minerals (REMs), including neodymium, praseodymium, and dysprosium. • Breaking Reliance on China: Currently, China dominates the global supply chain for these minerals, which are essential for everything from fighter jets and missile guidance systems to iPhones and electric vehicle batteries. • Resource Security: Trump views acquiring Greenland as a way to secure a domestic supply of these critical resources, insulating the U.S. economy and military from potential Chinese embargoes or supply chain disruptions. 3. Historical Precedent & Legacy While Trump's delivery was unconventional ("a large real estate deal"), the idea itself is not new. • 1946 Offer: In 1946, President Harry Truman secretly offered Denmark $100 million in gold to buy Greenland for strategic reasons. The U.S. also explored buying it in 1867. • Legacy Building: For Trump, purchasing a territory of that size (over 800,000 square miles) would be a legacy-defining expansion of the United States, similar to the Louisiana Purchase or the purchase of Alaska. It fits his view of the presidency as a vehicle for grand, tangible "deals" that physically enlarge the nation. Trump wants Greenland because he views it as a undervalued asset that Denmark struggles to subsidize, but which offers the U.S. immense military advantage and resource wealth. To him, it is a pragmatic transaction to lock down the Arctic against Chinese and Russian expansion. Whimsical bitch

I get your point, and I'm thankful you're worried, because you're saying the truth. Trust me when I say that many Venezuelans know who Trump is and his way to rule. And I'm also aware of USA's history on 'interventions'. What I'm just stating is that it's impossible for us, Venezuelans, to not feel happy and hopeful after one of the most evil dictators, got caught. It's been a fight of 20 years and despite the fact the chavismo is still up administrating, Maduro's detention is a huge punch on them.

Morphine Prince 109,683
The “If you aren’t Venezuelan don’t share your opinion” online is ridiculous. Peak anti-intellectualism and trying to silence differing opinions. So much for free speech. Acting like you can’t be happy Maduro is gone and also see consequences of US intervention politics. 2
