It was a rumour without evidence and it was a widely discredited pseudo academic speaking in theoreticals in a field he has no qualification in. We also still have zero evidence that Trump & Putin agreed to split Venezuela/Ukraine, and realistically although the direction of travel now supports a potential split deal - Trump is still pushing to get US economic control of Ukrainian resources which would go against you and Precht.

Precht is not a "discredited pseudo academic". He still appears on TV and talks with other famous local people. He is a real philosopher and has the full right to speak about whatever he wants.  And his theory has proven to be true.

None of GagaDaily users studied military studies either just like Precht.

You just don't like Precht because he said something about Ukraine that YOU don't like and that's the reason why you discredit him.

Yet Precht is right, Ukraine is losing and largely abandoned by relevant nations.

Cuba should now meet with China and deploy Chinese long-range missiles, relying on Chinese satellite reconnaissance; otherwise, it risks a similar fate to that further south. Russia cannot be relied upon as seen with poor betrayed Armenia. If Cuba falls, it will be much more difficult for China to attack the US from the east coast in the context of a potential Taiwan War, should the US attack mainland China first.

So it should be both in Cuba's and China's interest to cooperate now.

It's quite remarkable how much our media are whitewashing this military intervention and interviewing the many Venezuelan exiles who make it seem legitimate.

What happened today is nothing less than a serious breach of international law.

The removal of a head of state is an act of war. Consider that Russia did not remove Selenski for almost four years for various reasons, while the US did it in four months.

Of course, I don't doubt that life outside Venezuela in other American countries is better, yet....

Venezuela has not attacked any other country. Venezuela is dysfunctional, but not a threat to world peace.

This drug excuse is just a pretext. There are so many other countries that also supply drugs, but cooperate with the US government, while Venezuela is simply treated differently, worse.

Rubio's statement to blackmail Cuba is quite shocking.

When UN law is undermined and circumvented with arbitrary moral reasons, it is arbitrary; and if China takes over Taiwan, and is authorized to do so under UN law, but the West uses other arbitrary moral reasons to prevent it and to go to war, then everything becomes arbitrary.

I guess intervening other countries in the region through politics and vicious crime gangs is not enough for america or europe centrists to label his regimen as threat to the world

I hate to say that I agree with something like this, but I do. China needs to take a military stance against the US to remind it that its days as the sole superpower are numbered. In fact, China doing that would probably cause the US to further back Taiwan, preserving its peace too.

His theory is that Putin & Trump made a deal for Ukraine & Venezuela.

All that has happened is Trump has taken action in Venezuela. Meanwhile Trump continues to push US imperial goals in Ukraine which are against the goals of Russia.

As for Pretcht. He is a discredited pseudo academic. His only claim to being a philosopher is an honorary title.

His academic history is German literature.

Not philosophy.

Not political theory.

Not international relations.

Not international security.

Not conflict studies.

He can speak about whatever he wants. But he is not an expert. He is not qualified.

His takes on Ukraine are literally just copied homework from people with actual qualifications and decades of expertise on the subject. He has zero original takes or unique insight.

I fully agree Ukraine has been abandoned. You're an idiot for thinking I disagree.

Trump has not suceeded US imperial goals in Ukraine yet and likely will not. Without Putin's approval, there will be no Ukraine in NATO nor NATO troops in Ukraine. And any foreign  company involved in exploiting Ukrainian resources, might face attacks from Russia which will make them not invest there, if no deal is made, and a deal requires Putin's approval. They may make a deal that benefits the US economically, too, that may satisfy Trump, but geopolitically Russia will not allow US military presence. The Rare Earths of Ukraine are also more important to Western & Central Europe than to America which has more alternative options to choose from.

Precht has studied philosophy and 2 other subjects, equivalent to a bachelor's & master's degree. Precht has been teaching philosophy at university and his uni says, he is still teaching. That makes him an academic philosopher. Yes, he did not make a doctoral degree in philosophy but in another subject and this is not necessary to be a philosopher.

He has studied it, is teaching it, was writing philosophical essays and books that were read by philosophers.

And his own philosophical reasoning about Ukraine and Venezuela lead him to his own conclusion.

You seem to have no idea what philosophy actually is, because the fields of power, war and force are also parts of philosophy. Philosophy can be very diverse.  Being a philosopher makes him also free and more independent because military experts usually share the stances of their governments because they depend on money from their military acedemies. US military experts usually are pro-US interventionist action, while French, UK military experts are the same for their countries, like other countries' experts are too.

Military experts also tend to exaggerate threats in order to obtain additional funds and subsidies for building up their own military. We heard this in news reports about Russia: on Mondays, it was said that Russia's army would collapse in six months; on Wednesdays, it was said that Russia's army would soon invade Estonia and, if the military wasn't modernized, other countries as well.

A philosopher sees usually more value in the value of life and is more likely to endorse the surrender of a country to save lives while a military expert is more likely to endorse endless fighting, test new weapon systems, etc.

So, no, Precht not being a military expert does not make him any less qualified or any less ideal to make a statement.

if they install the rightfully elected candidate into the president role that's one thing

sadly US govt is not interested in democracy or the rule of law so that won't happen. I'm hugely fond of the US and have had so many amazing trips over there but I hate the direction it's gone in over the last year.

this is all about oil and profiteering ftom it  Venezuela will get next to nothing from this

So you are gonna tell venezuelans in my country being happy and celebrating this how they should feel?

Venezuelans are not a monolith. People have the right to criticize right wing Venezuelans who are celebrating innocents dying. If the majority of Venezuelans really do want a right wing dictatorship supported by America then sure, they can believe that. Certainly won't work out well for them though.
