I think the only positive US intervention in Latin America was Panama. Someone correct me if wrong.

Wrong actually. Thousands of innocent lives lost, thousand of people missing until today, mass graves, etc.

Panamanian olligarchy would tell otherwise since they're been running the country since 1989.  Their last move? allowing in US military presence in the country to, besides acting as southern US base camp, use their force to control the growing opposition against canadian mining companies looting Panama's resources, causing highly biodiversity mass destruction, forcing displacement of thousands, leaving the country in shambles.

This is just the future for Venezuela, sadly.

Honestly, profit becomes irrelevant when the goal is domestic control of a resource.

This is realistically, the only proven oil reserve that the US could ensure complete control over at effectively minimal risk of drawn out conflict (Latin Am nations realistically had no hard defensive alliances in place).
The only other option is Iran, and they're too well connected to Russia & China to ensure an easy or sustainable take over.

Agreed. Its just that the list of most reserves may paint a rather exagerated perception in ppls minds of how much benefit this would be to USA or even US companies for that matter that I wanted to point out.

Theres a lot of US Shale reserves still that are likely to be cheaper to produce that arent in official proven reserves yet, offshore they can look into as well, or Canadas oil sands (which is gaining favour again) and is open to foreign investment and the resource here is massive btw, 170B is a conservative estimate but many industry experts believe Canadas recoverable reserves are closer to 315B barrels

Theres also large shale deposits in Canada seperate from oil sands largely unexplored or in early stages that do not gave official estimates yet on reserves and not part of the figures either, were likely #2 in accessible and technologically recoverable reserves not #4 tbh but just not in category of "proven" right now. The US companies already have expertise drilling shale and our borders are open to them with little resistance plus a more open supply chain

What Venezuela control may do is give companies like Exxon less barriers to operate in assets they already own from before and less political risk to continue their operations. It would also provide additional reserves if in the far future more easily accessible ones in USA and Canada finally exhaust

But for the for foreseable future, these are large but expensive reserves to develop (Venezuelan oil is very viscous), in a Country plagued with political risk and theres much cheaper and more accessible reserves available to US companies

I dont suspect anytime soon Venezuela would be more than a side business for US companies where they own some assets and production but will never be their core business. And though production may recover somewhat, Venezuela will likely not compete with the worlds largest producers anytime soon (USA, Saudi Arabia, Russia and  Canada)

Again the reserves are large, but the economics of it compared to other options are sketchy AF. If anything it will be more ego than actual substance.

I'm not from Venezuela, I'm from Chile and we recieved a lot of immigration for there, some of my coworkers are from there and told me why they left and how they help their families from outside. And yes, they are really happy, they know it's not a black and white thing and it doesn't mean everything will be perfect onwards, but they feel comforted by the fact Maduro was captured.

Oh ok sorry. Some of ur comments made me think you were from there (or had been) my bad.

Again, the propaganda that "Venezuelans want this" is just that: propaganda.

Venezuelans in Venezuela (and not propagandized Americans who have right-wing Venezuelan parents) are protesting this:

In the same way people admire and defend Trump, you'll this see this type of behavior under any other political situation.  You cannot generalize a whole ideology based on 4 tweets, there's always division, just like the US has been divided on a quite logical choice for 10 years now.

People siding with a regime doesn't wipe out how democracy has been eradicated, take in consideration their rigged elections, the economy, immigrants. Look at the consequences.

Of course they're going to react to any sudden change, good or bad, when that's been their situation for years, they're not promoting propaganda, they're victims and vulnerable, yearning for anything at this point, think about it.

Changing up their narrative and siding them with Trump is not it, that's not helping them in any way.  We should be discussing the actual issue here which is how the US approaches this from now on.

Well Trump has also said he doesn't support the Opposition leader in Exile coming to power.

Now, what Trump says is always ****ing confusing.

But it really does suggest that the Chavist government may have decided to sacrifice Maduro to the US in return for keeping their ilicit wealth and position.
