To be fair, I'm not a Tracklist Tracy, but I guess I could understand being thrown off by some of the shifts.

Do you like Shadow Of A Man, though? Do you think that would fit in earlier on the tracklist?

Shadow of a Man should be after zombieboy and its odd that it’s not bc they flow perfectly into each other :laughga:

I think most people would agree that MAYHEM’s "bottom 3" songs are Blade Of Grass, The Beast & Killah…

I stopped reading when The Beast and Killah were mentioned :ladyhaha:

Mostly because Killah is easily one of her best tracks ever released

Just to clarify, the three least strong songs on this wonderful album (in chronological order) are PC, HBDYWM and BOG.

PC's achilles heel is that the words perfect and celebrity are not good musical words, they're a bit clunky, just don't lend themselves to being sung.

HBDYWM, as has been well documented, sounds like a Taylor Swift song, except of course that it doesn't really because it's Gaga who's doing the singing and the song is therefore full of life and verve, as opposed to sounding like the musical equivalent of boiled rice.

BOG has some good moments but it kinda drags a bit as well,

DWAS, KFL, CSTH and the DD have not been included in this evaluation as none of them are really on the album.

Also… Killah is not clearly in the bottom. It’s one of the best songs. The Beast, BoG are clearly the worst songs. However, I find both DCT and Love Drug to be the next worst songs.

I will agree 100% about that particular semantic clunkiness...

but PC one of the 3 "least strong" ???

It's a tough task trying to pick holes in any of these songs, and I just think I've found a way in there.

Imagine thinking Mayhem has any bad songs in there. Don't Call Tonight is a gem and I prefer this over Shadow of a Man but that's just me. Ever since I listened to it for the first time I got this Alejandro / Ace of Base / The Weeknd Daft Punk vibes from it and I love it.

Mayhem is a long album. Of course it has uptempo, mid tempo and ballads in there. It's a Gaga album and flows really well with what she decided to put there and one of her best tracklists.

Ngl I think I felt like the middle/back half of the record dragged a bit when I was listening to the OG tracklist (LD -> HBDUWM -> DCT), but I honestly think the added tracks solve the pacing issue for me and those songs feel like they flow much better and serve as a much needed cool down after the electro bangers and funk bops in the first half. Excellent album.

Tbf ☝🏼🤓 I never said any of them are bad

(some just have subjectively bad sections)

But DCT over SOAM? Mildly shocking, I must say

DCT was an immediate favorite from the album for me and has become one of my top Gaga songs of all time and I’ll die on that hill. That chorus sends me every time, especially “I can hear everything you say from here”. It’s so Tina coded and infectious. I knew from first listen that this website would stomp the mud out of it of course yet I persevere through the slander.

what shocked me was how many people don’t vibe with LD.
