Oriane 21,592
I usually like it as background music or for some use in films, games etc. I like singing it too, Gaga has inspired me to do it more. Taumaturg0 808
Do you like jazz? Yes Do you like Gaga's jazz? Yes Do showtunes in the Great American Songbook count as jazz? Not all of them imo. Same thing with traditional pop, not all of traditional pop is jazz What are your favourite jazz songs?
LOVEDRUG 10,968
I almost never listen to Cheek to Cheek, as I'm not a huge fan of most jazz standards, and I find a lot of the songs that they decided to cover a bit irritating and grating. I like Love for Sale a lot more, as I find Cole Porter to be a great songwriter, though the sound is still not really for me. Harlequin is much more my thing as it leans more traditional pop, and is a lot more distinctive and original than her albums with Tony, which whilst great, are ultimately just jazz cover albums and don't particularly do much with the material they're covering. Ronk 14,812
I love jazz. My father was a jazz musician and played in big bands in the 40's and 50's. I attended some of his concerts. Sometimes he would jam all night with his friends down in the studio in the basement of our house. He would only play swing jazz, never sweet jazz. I grew up listing to music like this: I live outside the space time continuum.
