Billboard ranked Mayhem at #3!

“Lady Gaga might have given her sixth studio album a chaotic title, but the 14-track project ended up as one of her most cohesive and fully realized yet, exploring themes of fame, identity and ultimately love (romantic and self-worth alike) through the lens of disorder. What seemed especially cohesive was the response from Little Monsters and pop fans at large, who praised Gaga for returning to form while also pushing her sound into the future”

Sixth?! I thought it was her eighth?!

Idk why journos disregard that Gaga herself considers TFM a separate album, but I see it all the time (Rolling Stone, Pitchfork etc.). But if we’re including pop solo records, MAYHEM is her 7th (she said, somewhat cheekily, she sees Harlequin as LG6.5).

Omg #3 is great, especially from Billboard!!

I was surprised it had “only” sold 6.5m units with how big the era felt compared to the previous ones (excluding ASIB obviously) but actually it’s more than great with all the praise and everything :sara:

Oh, how I wish she was THE biggest :bradley: 2010 felt so good in that regard

I really hope Mayhem wins the AOTY Grammy

I feel all this praise and press will help! Although this list also puts Bad Bunny at number one, which also helps him.

I always thought that TFM didn't constitute an album by official standards. But according to the Recording Academy: it's an album.

(Their standards: 30 minutes total with no track requirement, or a 5 track minimum where all tracks total at least 15 minutes. TFM is ~34 minutes.)

TFM was also nominated separately for AOTY right after TF was also nominated for AOTY a previous year. They def are treated as two separate albums by the industry.
