Gwen Stefani called out for partnering with anti-abortion prayer app

Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause has slammed Gwen Stefani for partnering with a pay to pray app that is explicitly anti-abortion.

“Gwen-DON’T SPEAK,” the Selling Sunset star, 44, wrote in the comments section of an Instagram Reel about Stefani’s ad, referring to No Doubt’s 1996 hit. “Please take your own advice on this one🫠.”

 

In Stefani's original video, she had encouraged her fans to participate in the Hallow App's Advent Challenge which involved praying every day leading up to Christmas.

She said: 'It is important this holiday season to spend time in prayer. That is what Christmas is all about: letting God into our hearts and letting Jesus bring us his peace.

While Stefani’s video was “liked” by Kris Jenner, numerous Instagram users were not happy with her decision to partner with Hallow. “I love you, Gwen but unfortunately I ain’t no Hallow app girl. 😬,” wrote one user, referencing Stefani’s solo hit “Hollaback Girl.”

Another commenter wrote, “This is very disappointing, Gwen. Lots of your fans are from the LGBTQ+ community and this feels like a deep betrayal.” Additional users pointed out that it costs nothing to pray, with one writing, “God is free, Gwen. Touch some grass.”

Stause, meanwhile, left her comment on a video by “A Bit Fruity” podcast host Matt Bernstein, who pointed out that Hallow costs $9.99 a month or $69.99 per year and includes prayers and meditations that are explicitly anti-abortion. Bernstein further noted that the app was initially funded by Vice President JD Vance and conservative venture capitalist Peter Thiel, the latter of whom has called diversity initiatives “very evil and very silly.” In 2009, Thiel, 58, wrote an op-ed asserting that giving women the right to vote was bad for democracy.

This isn't new, Gwen has been on her Christian era for a long time. She's worked with Hallow last year for advent too.

Its a christian app that provides prayers for christians, and one of the prayer options are for christian women that dont want to get abortion. So its not an anti abortion app, its a christian app, and anything christian will have these issues like being anti abortion.

This is the confusing part. Why not just Google prayers (FOR FREE) instead of paying an App $70+ yearly? Heck, you can even make your own prayers. 

If one believes in God then they shouldn’t need a script to talk to him.

Also the bible (which Christian faith is based on) fully says that prayers should not be saying the same things over and over again and need to come from the heart

 

A written prayer for u literally co tradicts that.
