No, I love Madonna but the comparisons were so overrated musically.

I don't see any Gaga album that is similiar to a Madonna one.

Not musically, but in the sense that both are considered “returns to form” that are massive late(r) career blockbusters? I can see it

Yeah, beyond the reception/narrative for the era there's not really similiarity. 
But you are spot on about them both being seen as career renaissances.
