Sneaky Oliver 22,371
funny how this fanbase was begging for a disco era back when this came out but then we got a little disco vibe on mayhem and everyone is like WE’RE TIRED OF DISCO!!!

I think on the long run it could’ve done a bit better than Perfect Illusion did in the following year (but it would’ve had a much lower peak) Pros: the sound being much better for the GP/radio, the exposure (and praise) Gaga was having at the very same time for AHS: Hotel Cons: the song being a cover, not being from a Gaga new album. Most of the top songs of 2015 sounded nothing like this, other than bits of Bruno / The Weeknd: Uptown Funk, See You Again, Blank Space, Thinking Out Loud, Sugar, Shut Up and Dance, The Hills, Earned It, Love Me Like You Do, Take Me To Church… leaning slower, more acoustic, and/or more R&B. A Chic collab wasn't going to do well on Pop radio, streaming, or sales considering the (nonexistent) support fans give these types of singles (i.e., SSOH). It did its part as one of the many steps taken 2013-2018, even if Chic continuously delaying their album made the studio release of the track even more of a nonevent. Without the delay, a Joanne box set or special edition with this, The Cure, Joanne (Piano), couple of remixes and maybe 1-2 new/bonus tracks in early 2018 would’ve been nice though.
