Honestly, its not groundbreaking as plenty of other queer romantic series have existed over the years. But I think what is groundbreaking is that its a mainstream series focusing on sport. That is relatively new ground for tv audiences. The NHL has a very bad recent track record with LGBT issues as a governing org sadly. In a world where we are milked and squeezed and manipulated for all of our money, and yet still can't access a piece of media, despite trying our best.. I think it's morally acceptable to take it.
