Monstermilo 5,178 Posted December 26, 2025 Share Posted December 26, 2025 ugh that was a beautiful episode. i still feel like this season was way too short, still think we shouldve started with 4 episodes with scott/kip since their book came first, and then did the last 6 with ilya and shane. the pacing of this show is my only real issue with the show - it has so much potential, and i truly dont remember when a gay show all about gay couples has gone this viral. were so used to gay couples getting a few side storylines here and there, happy this show has made both gay couples the focus. its not revolutionary by any means, but its been so nice to see a gay show not be afraid of showing gay men being in love 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I wish this season had more episodes. This is such a beautiful story. I really wish it could be redone and stretched out (like Shane’s hole) and elongated (like ilyas **** when he sees Shane’s hole) because the development and progression of their relationship from rivals to secret fxck buddies to lovers is so beautiful to watch and I feel like those moments deserved to not be rushed. It would’ve made getting to the end of this season where they are officially BFs and out to Shane’s family feel SOOOO MUCH MORE earned because we’d had waited SOO long for it all saw all the moment in between. for Shane’s parents learning they’d been together since rookie season which was like 8 years ago is crazy, but for us as the audience we’re like “yeah that was only 6 episodes/6 hours ago…..” so it’s just not as…IDK you get what I mean that being said- this is the perfect example of “LEAVE THEM WANTING MORE” Jfc . Honestly, they did a great job given the constraints they had. But I wish Skip got more airtime, I wish we got to see them reconcile and the initial split before the kiss. And I wish we got Kip at the awards ceremony & the post awards club night with Scott & Ilya. And the creator has said that season 2 will be longer, no specified episode length but even if its just 8 to 10 it gives more space for story beats to breathe. It got better with every episode I hope we get a wlw show one day that is this popular and spicy and directed by a lesbian. I love how they closed the season, I loved Shane's parents reaction, I loved how it endend. I needed a happy ending from this season (I haven't read the books, so I don't know it continues).
