JADE's debut solo album has a deluxe coming out 5 December 'That's Showbiz Baby! The Encore'.

There will be 8 new songs including a cover of Madonna's 'Frozen'.

Can this 'deluxe' trend please die soon 

The new songs always feel less valuable/important than the original tracks, yet the original album also gets devalued once a deluxe drops. So essentially it's cheapening the entire project.

I mean, I love getting more music but just release it in one go ffs

I’m kind of sad that the songs that songs that leaked aren’t part of the deluxe album, especially since I didn’t get a chance to listen to them.

I remember being able to stream C’est La Vie, I Confess, Exes and Enemies, and other songs that titles I forget but just once. Also, of course songs that she released already.

I'm fine with debut album eras getting deluxes because I do think its beneficial to new acts to be able to flesh out their catalogue.

She said that the "deluxe" would be treated as its own project, like a fame and fame monster type thing.

I need artists to embrace EPs again. An album/LP or EP needs to have a narrative for me - sonically, lyrically, thematically - to in a sense "justify" their existence. Otherwise it's just a playlist of songs. Putting 5-8 songs just at the back of an already told story feels pointless. 
I get it's smarter from a recognition point of view, especially for a debut album, to keep working with the album title people are already familiar with. Then again, Gaga had the balls to release TFM (granted 15 years later people still debate if it's an EP or just the deluxe version of TF 😅)

I’m honestly fine with it in general. Fans complain about modern eras ending early, largely because, outside of touring, conventional promo (award shows, late night appearances, MVs etc) are either too costly or irrelevant, so this is actually one sure fire way of keeping hype for an era alive. Genuinely not sure why people take issue with this. 
 

The only complaint I get is the songs feeling like an afterthought if they’re just tacked onto the end. At least have the decency to sequence them into the album.

I will ALWAYS take a deluxe album. The more music put out the better imo
