julz 7,568
I have been visiting GagaDaily DAILY for the past few years. I think it really started for me during the pandemic, when GGD became my pop newspaper. Not just about Gaga, but other celebrities and world affairs and general entertainment. With what u posted here, i kinda feel scared honestly because i crave for Gaga content and i mean music and album eras. But i am prepared and i am happy, very happy for her. I know GGD is not just about Gaga so i will still visit daily, but i know it's going to be different for a while. I do have a life but this is a comfort zone for me, and i want Gaga to feel the same way, for a long time, to be in such comfort zone....with Michael and soon her own family. I agree, The Fame till Mayhem is one whole book closing.... the wonderful story of a hardworking artist who truly reshaped the pop hemisphere, and inspired many artists globally to be who they want to be. I wish that before she vanishes into us for a while, she gives us something that we will really really like. That could mean many things, but I trust in Gaga. Vote 4 Gaga: https://mtv.com/event/vma/vote

The end of the first book doesn't mean the end of Gaga as an artist. I think it's just the beginning of what will become one of the greatest artistic legacy of all time. And remember: you can always reread the first book and find deeper meanings.

Nycboy 1,128
I respectfully disagree. I’ve felt the same way as you after every album since ARTPOP, and guess what? #TheJourneyContinues because her past, present, & future will always be intertwined and she will always be Lady Gaga. I’ve realized it’s usually a mistake to think any of her albums are an endpoint. After ARTPOP was released, I specifically remember thinking at the time “wow this is such a conclusion for Gaga - this is the true authentic gritty eccentric self she had been commercializing or holding back in her earlier eras, but now she’s finally free.” It didn’t feel like she made the album for charts or anyone else but her. The thesis of her career up to this point was all about elevating pop music as a high art, and doing it so overtly on this album with that goal in mind felt like the ultimate conclusion. After Joanne, of course it was easy to argue that she rid her self of much of her Gaga persona and that she no longer had anything to prove to anyone anymore - once again a conclusion to “The Lady Gaga Project.” Was being a respected singer songwriter who could shed her costume (aka being vulnerable) her final destiny? Then of course with Chromatica, the goal was to heal from her trauma. That also felt like an endpoint. Her fears and traumas that manifested back at TFM were being revisited, but she’s more mature now, and she’s healing and dancing through the pain and moving on. It felt like old Gaga but compressed through a therapy machine - maybe that’s who adult Gaga was destined to become? And then she releases Mayhem, and we’re closer to 2008 than ever before lol. I think what makes Mayhem so successful is that it’s not really a concept album. She didn’t have some grand idea and then write songs to fit that idea (ARTPOP, Joanne, Chromatica). She didn’t have a genre she was trying to showcase (Joanne). She just made great music. I think if anything it demonstrates her next step will continue her commitment to quality music rather than to harp on lofty ideas that sometimes fall flat. She doesn’t have to heal the world (BTW), her family (Joanne) or herself (Chromatica) with each album. I also think that what makes ASIB so strong is that it relies on the narrative of the film, so she didn’t need to create a “concept” behind it, so she’s personally removed from it and it’s just good music.
weed 75,180
Idrk what that means but I'm excited for Gaga's journey to continue I think if her career is split into books we are finishing the 3rd book. Perhaps TF to Oscars Sound of Music, AHS to House of Gucci, Chromatica Ball until Now.
chewing on pearls 529
we've been thinking and talking a lot about this over here at Chewing on Pearls... we often frame it like: 2008-2013/14 as chapter 1, 2014/15-2023 as chapter 2, 2024-present as the current chapter of her story I wonder – does anyone know anything about her current label contract? the previously leaked contract said she had an extension to 7 albums, and we've arrived... it would be really cool to see her do music at the pace she wants to without label pressures and timelines. we know she put out Harlequin under the "Lil Monsters LLC" imprint....
Kayi 2,800
Nah, it won't be the end of Gaga... I think with the maturity she gained she could take so many different ways now : She could come back with maybe big movies acting roles. She could also do a rock music or adult contemporary album because Mayhem basically appeal both to the young and older generations. It would be more a sober era and if she build her family at this moment, then it would give her a good visibility. Not pop-rock, not grunge-rock, probably something more ballad-oriented with edges. It could be something inspired by folk vocalists like Enya, idk... (And Madonna fans would come and say "it's her Ray Of Light era *cry*). Or she could enter in a very futuristic and experimental era, with Björk inspos. But Gaga never properly done any break in her career run. In my peace era.
