Roughhouse Dandy 12,123
She's right to clap back, she should do it more, and more artists should do the same. People have lost their minds post-covid and don't know how to act anymore. Artists are humans and usually a lot more sensitive than "the public" but they're treated like machines. Give the rudes a dose of their own medicine. This is my Hannah Montana™️ lipgloss.

A lot of artists would be well within their right to push back on these phone warrior entitled stan douchebags sometimes, but they’ll always be seen as in the wrong. I disagree, when is the last time a man was called out for not having "outfit changes" during his show? I do believe that these complaining fans should go into this brand new tour open-minded. I saw clips, and it's not like she's coming out in pajamas and sitting in a BarcaLounger- she's got a great outfit that allows her to move and dance, she's singing live, there's a live band playing the music, they've got lighting work going, there are backup singers... it's a solid production.

Yeah I'm sick of the "you're famous so I can be disrespectful to you, and it's wrong of you to come back at me" mentality. while I probably wouldn't have said what Doja said verbatim, I'm not going to judge her if she wants to respond to these people

No dancers, props, outfit changes etc. I know she'll perform her ass off on that stage though how much was the mayhem ball GA though? higher budget production ends up being higher budget ticket prices ... inflation has really brought touring prices to astronomical highs sadly

AsleepOnTheCeiling 6,632
9 hours ago, RAMROD said: I mean, I can't blame the fans. Cos, well..., Doja was trying to be a fashion icon with all the couture she wore for awhile, since the Woman era, so obviously her fans who are into fashion feel a little let down seeing current era is lacking. Like, I can see their issue with this. Being a fashion icon is something that goes on forever. Once the fashion enthusiasts set eyes on you for it, you're doomed. It's like this cult site, during the Joanne era, where most fans aren't feeling the Western/Cowgirl aesthetic. But yeah, the unfairness compared to male performers are such a big gap. But then again, mens fashion are kinda boring. Like, the most breakthroughs in men's fashion includes; mens wearing pink in early 2000s, mens wearing skirt (in masculine-non-cros dress way), in late 1990s, men's skinny jeans/jeggings in 2010, and male romper in 2017. Even then, not all mens wear them. Like wtf?! There were never like actual art form with menswear compared to women's. Her fans would know that the Scarlet tour also had no costume changes and barely any set props or physical design elements. 7 hours ago, Gagasdisease said: Just checked a video of the tour on Youtube... It looks like she's going for an 80's vocalist vibe with no BG dancers, which is fine and its perfect for 'Vie', the stage is minimalistic but still cool... The thing is, she is a pop girl, and her earlier hits would go better with dancers or a more elaborate setup... I think she could've kept what she's doing for the 'Vie' songs, and then bring in dancers, or change it up at some point for other songs... I love Doja and I get where she's coming from, but she has to be more careful with how she responds to her fans' criticism because it can backfire, and it has... The new album made no noise and isn't doing good commercially. Her new album was barely promoted by the label and she's also really always been a singles artist. Scarlet didn't do all that well despite having Paint the Town Red (no vinyl on release didn't help). And Planet Her didn't do all that well considering she had Kiss Me More, Woman, and You Right. I feel like everyone needs to get more comfortable with the fact that most post-COVID acts are gonna have trouble moving albums. And that we'll continue to see one-off singles and more singles with less albums going forward. Until the general public wants to actually support artists, we're gonna see a lot of cuts in tour design and music video budgets because they're really gonna squeeze the bottom line in the changing music world.
