Now lets hope they are actually released and not withheld because of an 'ongoing investigation' that Trump instructed Bondi to launch on the Democrats... The only reason he said Republicans should vote to release it is because of this I think. Also Clay Higgins was the 1 who voted against the release

I wanna say first this is important for the public to see and to honor the victims and to hold as many accountable as possible.

That said, it's been 10 years of "this is finally going to take down Trump" and it has never even come close to happening. Let's not overhype this.

A month ago I would've rejoiced, but I worry that Trump redacted himself from the files. He was completely against it for most of this year until he suddenly was fine with it.

It is definitely hard to jump to conclusions still, sadly

I still believe he has scrubbed his name or still needs time to doctor the files... If Pam Bondi is investigating democrats then the DOJ cannot release the files even if Trump signs the order. So he will appear to be cooperating to MAGA but in reality he is only showing "support" for the release because the investigation will now keep them from being released

that's how I feel, that he has people working overtime to scrub them

Doesn’t matter anymore.

suddenly trump wants the files out cause he has “nothing to hide”

where was this attitude last year? Why didn’t he release them ASAP if there really was nothing to hide?

why did it take so much time?

I call major BS.

Pronounced like “Balenciaga” . Emphasis on the “Ga”

Yeah I don't believe any of that, or by some kind of magic there won't be any republican mentionned in the files. That's how extreme right works

In my other comment I mentioned that he now has Bondi launching an investigation so that they still won't be able to release them, but it is a notable moment for the house to have made the vote.

Trump is still trying to buy time to either doctor the files or keep holding them. At this point I imagine we won't get them until he dies and can't be held responsible.

Another thing to consider is the Senate could amend the movement to censor or entirely remove the actual names in the files.

Higgins seemed to've been hinting at that 'cause he "believes" a list of associated people with no context would implicate a lot of people who've provided alibis or have otherwise not had criminal allegations thrown at them.

So this is FAR from over. Trump and the Repukes are just trying to polish up a bit of their PR by promising to support the release at this moment in time.
