This song was released two weeks ago and went viral, but now it has been removed from Spotify and Apple Music as it was allegedly AI song

The song was also supposed to reach the top 10 in the UK, but it was removed from the chart and The Official UK Charts Company released a statement:

"It is against Official Charts Company policy to include within our charts any repertoire which is believed to potentially be infringing. We have received notification that a series of takedown notices have been issued to DSPs in relation to the track I Run by Haven. Our understanding is that these takedown notices have been or are in the process of being implemented. As a consequence, this track is suspended today from the Official Singles Charts."

Breaking Rust (the AI country group) is still on Apple Music so wonder what their actual stance will be/why that one was removed.

Breaking Rust is transparent about being AI and properly registered as such

I wonder if this otherone they took down was trying to pass off as something else and as such "infringement"

It doesn't really matter if it appears on the chart or not. People love the song and continue to enjoy it, that is all that matters at the end of the day.

I have an issue with it.

Ai is a great tool. It can help in problem solving, medicine research, information searches and assist in other projects. Thats all totally fine and im not against AI overall

But theres specific things AI should not be a part of, art being one of them. Art is by nature supposed to be about talent, emotion and connection. Algorithms dont have any of that and defeats the purpose of why we all enjoy art in the first place

By allowing Corporations to capitalize on this so they can save costs on giving an artist their cut... essentially you accept hollow ai art narratives that only benefit the pockets of big corps!

I dont even say this as a record label hater. Despite some shady practices they have their benefits too. But they should do so in collaboration with artists, not replace them with AI to make their margins a little better. Art and expression should not be part of automation we do that with shoes and clothing should not be doing that with things related to the soul :rip:

This song was my first thought when I read the title. Why would they remove such a classic bop?! :rip:

The music business has never, EVER been about talent. If it was, Britney or Rihanna never would have become famous.

The track used AI music generator Suno to alter its vocals and it sounds just like Jorja Smith's voice so her distributor issued takedown notices

The frenzy of activity around “I Run” prompted multiple A&Rs at major and independent music companies to look into signing the track and the people that created it as it awaited official release. It also caught the attention of the popular UK R&B singer Jorja Smith. The uncredited female vocalist on “I Run” sounded eerily similar to her.

That’s when questions started circulating about the origins of HAVEN.’s viral track — and whether or not it was an unauthorized AI deepfake of Jorja Smith’s voice.

Just as the song was taking off, it was taken down from streaming services. The Orchard — to whom Smith is signed — as well as the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and International Federation of the Phonograph Industry (IFPI), issued dozens of takedown notices for “I Run” upon its official release, according to screenshots of the notices, alleging various issues with the song, including that the song “misrepresents” another artist and that it constitutes copyright infringement.

AI "music" shouldn't be a thing period. I'll never stream this trash and anyone with sense should condemn it :nails:

Robots should crunch numbers and perform repetitive tasks. They shouldn't be spitting out "art" for people to purchase.
