Britney spears posted a video of her dancing to "Cocaine" by Robin Thicke, and the stepford wives and their groomed children did the usual by spinning drug rumors. Britney spears responded to this by denying any drug use, although she did leave a very interesting anecdote about her music career. Britney compared her dancing to a song about drugs to one she wrote back in the mid-2000s called "Extasy" that she co-wrote with Pharrell, which was supposed to from and album she was "supposed to do". Britney turned 23 in December 2004, meaning that she was 23 throughout 2005, which lines up with the originally intended (no pun intended) Original Doll release timeline.

Honey I know this is "just another one of her Instagram posts", but this is actually big. Like she is likely referring to Original Doll for the first time in over 20 years, her lost album? I had to post this right away because omg.

I really wonder if she’ll ever return herself to music industry at some point or at least will get to release any other stuff including things she worked in the past and didn’t see the light of day if anything, that would be interesting

it fills me with warmth and joy to think of the possibility that Britney is OK and just living her life and being happy.

some of her posts are hard to understand, which sometimes makes me think there is something else going on, but if not, then that is a massive relief

As ironic as it may sound, Britney doesn’t belong in show business.  She was never emotionally built for it. I could sense it in interviews from the very beginning.  Something always seemed off, unnatural and forced.   It all sent her over the edge eventually, and that’s where she still is.  She should have been head of the college dance team, then maybe a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, married a rich football player and had her family.  It would have been better suited for her temperament.

This is what I noticed too, esp was it 2002 where it kinda felt like she was just forcing herself to do the interviews. I often think, like if she had more slow start for her career, would it have been better for her? Like, not become an absolute massive star with Baby One More Time.

Rushing into her second album was definitely a choice. I mean, I get it. She was on a roll with her success so they wanted to follow it up ASAP. However, Christina, Justin, Jessica, etc. all waited longer for their second albums. I feel like Britney should've have a fifth single from Baby One More Time in early 2000, then take a break until Britney in late 2001.

I agree, also baby One More Time should have not happened, even if it did give us some iconic hits.

I will say that Baby One More Time was originally going to be a self-titled album (like with Christinas debut) with some different tracks on it, but it got changed after Baby One More Time (the song) was released and became successful. Originally it was going to come out in late 1998, but it got pushed back into early 1999 with Jive rushing to change the album to be more like the lead single.
