Ikr, I remember the first time hearing ‘a hybrid can withstand these things……’ and thinking Ah Ha HERE WE GO! And those HEE-HEE vocals, and the mystical vibe. Chills. 🔮✨
Oriane 21,346
The iTunes festival was amazing. All new songs, raw energy, and these rock vibes I had been waiting for. I loved the whole ARTPOP era honestly. Everything was great. SevenWonder 4,454
ARTPOP is what made me stan. I started to like Gaga a lot at the end of BTW (You and I and Marry the Night were standouts for me). But ARTPOP pushed me over the edge. And it was because of two reasons: First, my good friend played my Aura (iirc, it leaked early, right?) and it blew me away. I couldn't believe the biggest pop star in the world put out something so...bizarre. But also catchy and gorgeous too. Then, when Applause was released I thought (and still do) think it was the coolest sounding pop release in ages. I just loved it. Way more than her previous huge hits. It just hit different. It was different! Basically, I realized that Gaga wasn't playing it safe. And I dug that.

I honestly think the best way to launch a Gaga era is through live performance of some of the tracks … I wish MAYHEM launch had this treatment, to fall in love with the tracks as a live experience 😌…… anyway I love what we got. Ladle Ghoulash 28,747
Couldn’t agree more about the ARTPOP performance at Swinefest. SXSW was also absolutely electric We have forgotten our public MANNERS 2
PEZ 6,315
MANiCURE has always been my favorite track from ARTPOP. When she performed it at my artRAVE date, I was going ham in the audience, and at one point she looked right at me and pointed finger guns at me and did a "bang, bang" motion during the line "like a serial killer, man is a goner". To this day when I hear that line I make finger guns like I'm gonna point them back at her. Silly but it's a fond memory and my highlight of the night! Anyway here's my favorite version of MANiCURE, love the rasp: ⚡🐲 1

weed 74,978
ARTPOP was the era of ambition and experimentation, I loved how she was just doing whatever for the art I feel like my personal highlight would be Aura... just everything about it! So intense, so fun, touch of politics, sex, vocals, soo good. Edited 2 hours ago by weed
Stefanotta 1,350
From all that ARTPOP era, I liked Venus, GUY and Applause, I really liked Aura and Gypsy (+ honorable mention: Swine and I Wanna Be With You from iTunes). What I liked most of that era was its fashion. Those looks were pure art and perfection. But album wise, rest of unmentioned songs sucked for me. Felt like fillers. Sorry its just my opinion, I think I’ll never understand Fashion, Donatella, MJH, J&D, ARTPOP…) EDIT: but - Brooklyn Nights? That was an experience first hearing it. The best song from ARTPOP (era) and the worst decision of her team not to put that song in final tracklist. Edited 2 hours ago by Stefanotta My biggest enemy is me. popkulture 352
This specific performance and moment was so powerful. The way she literally moved from ART (starting at the Koons sculpture, behind the crowd) and went through the crowd amongst all the designers, artists, fans, cameras, drag performers and towards POP (the stage) really encapsulated the philosophy of ARTPOP. I could write a whole thesis on this performance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lm4LuX9oK5w&list=RDlm4LuX9oK5w&start_radio=1 My second highlight is her collaboration and mentorship with the legend herself, miss Marina Abramovic.
