Massive Monster 5,067
I mean she has it all but her pre-choruses, choruses and post-choruses stand out in general because if a song is well written they are meant to stand out I think we can all agree that Mayhem has surprised us all with all its infectious parts and stellar production. From this album: Disease has a catchy as hell pre chorus and loud outro in the best possible way. To name a couple of incredible pre-choruses, choruses and post-choruses, all in the same song: GOE and Abracadabra. Gaga DarkPop perfection. Beautiful pre chorus and chorus: Vanish Into You. A surprising instrumental break: Killah. Perhaps the winning bridge: Zombieboy. Other stellar chorus: Lovedrug. Special mention for Can't Stop The High which has a catchy AF post-chorus. The winning outro: Perfect Celebrity. What all these songs have is great progression, instrumental and vocal variations, they don't sound repetitive. This album is incredible. Kind regards
Oriane 21,332
So out of curiosity, I decided to take every song she made (only with her as a main artist and officially released) and wrote down which part of the song I thought was the best/strongest. As I expected, the chorus got first by a mile. Then it's the bridge and outro, they have similar numbers. The post-chorus got the very last spot. I realize that a lot of times, especially in her early songs, I find the post-chorus to be annoying and it drags on for too long (not going to name titles because it will trigger some of you). The few instances where I noted the post-chorus as better are in her more recent albums. Looking back, I could have done it differently though. I could have just noted every time I found a part of the song to be remarkable instead of forcing myself to choose exactly one per song. The results would be different, but I'm too lazy to go through that all over again. So these results are more "on an average Gaga song, which part is the strongest?". For the outro, I also counted the times when she does an extended last chorus (I mean more than just a key change or more background vocals, something like Speechless' last chorus for example). Intro: IIIIIIII Verse: IIIIIIIIII Pre-chorus: IIIIIIIII Chorus: IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII Post-chorus: III Bridge: IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII Outro: IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII And here's a list of the best examples I found (again, some of these could have fit into several categories but I had to choose): Intro: Alejandro, DITD, Scheiße, Bad Kids, Black Jesus Amen Fashion Verse: Beautiful Dirty Rich, Sexxx Dreams, MANiCURE, Just Another Day Pre-chorus: Monster, Highway Unicorn (Road To Love), Fashion!, Mary Jane Holland, Applause Chorus: Paparazzi, So Happy I Could Die, Hair, Bloody Mary, Heavy Metal Lover, Aura, Venus, Swine, Diamond Heart, Joanne, Zombieboy, Blade of grass Post-chorus: Replay, Abracadabra, Garden of Eden Bridge: Just Dance, Bad Romance, Born this Way, Electric Chapel, Yoü and I, The Edge of Glory, ARTPOP, Shallow, Don't call tonight Outro: Speechless, Teeth, Marry the Night, John Wayne, Perfect Illusion, Grigio Girls, The Queen, Perfect Celebrity, Kill for love The only GGD member who can read / Credits to Celloo Deng for the profile pic! 1
