Hey, I am asking questions, nothing else, I am trying to understand the whole situation. 

I mean, if there was something iconic about Michael’s look, the answer could be yes. Like it or not, unfortunately when you’re a public figure, there are certain things about your life that enter the canon of public iconography and people play with them. But I also think another dimension to this is the fact that that Jackie O was not only a fashion icon, but literally insisted on wearing the Chanel suit covered in blood after JFK’s assassination, which is both incredibly powerful and, from a media perspective, is somewhat camp in hindsight so it’s not as if it’s a deeply private moment being exploited, but rather a recreation of a very public statement made by Jackie O.

Thats such an insane video essay, the **** that happened AFTER the shooting were even more insane  I've watched it a few times and every time it just shocks me what an utter shitfesr the entire situation was.

OT; idk I love the look, like I'd never think about such a costume  and its insanely brilliant in a ****ed up campy way but I'm also not phased by much lately, the only things that shocks and/or offends me would be violence againts animals and  the disabled/very young/old people who can't really fens for themselves

It’s true, but while a lot of queer people today claim to love the subversiveness of his films, I think subversion is easier to stomach in hindsight and I think a lot of his so-called contemporary fans would struggle with a contemporary equivalent of his work.

I’m not necessarily sure we have a contemporary equivalent to John Waters. There are some drag queens that push the envelope in a similar way, but not on the same scale.

This is kinda tacky but works for a Halloween costume if you have that dark humor to see the satire, especially with the explanation of Jackie wanting the world to see her with all of that. And this works because it’s Julia aka no one cares about. If this were someone like Taylor, Billie, Sabrina idk this would be making headlines and offended people would come in big numbers.
