Guille 1,344
Hello! First of all, this thread is purely intending to create a respectful and healthy debate. I feel like this tour, she has been avoiding public appearances as much as she can. We barely see her at airports, hotels or exploring the city, besides short, private trips to Michelin restaurants Now I am in Barcelona and, to be honest, the amount of effort she puts into avoiding to be seen is overwhelming. DO NOT GET ME WRONG! I totally understand it, but she has even made the hotel staff park the van on the sidewalk, almost inside the reception, to avoid fans! I feel like maturity, her being in a better, healthier place and the sense of peace she has found in separating her persona and her true self are kind of behind of all of this. But also, I have agreed with some fans that she feels kind of colder in the shows and tends to interact way less with the crowd. I am happy for her if she has found a balance in managing her fame like this, and I prefer her to be healthy and happy while delivering these amazing shows and music, than crazy close and suffering, but, do you feel she has changed much? Do you think it affects her connection with the fans? It is not good nor bad, just different! 4
Neringa 71
I think she is just tired of all those people screaning and going insane whenever she goes. she's quite happy to interact with fans in shows, but not outside the hotel or in the streets. I guess I would do so too. 12 1

I understand it is difficult, but she is a person and she must feel overwhelmed when it happens
TheFrenchGuy 567
I remember the scene in Five Foot Two where she talks about how empty and alone she felt going from being swarmed by fans to total silence. I think the focus of her life is now more behind the scenes, and that’s a good thing. Her fan interactions happen in much more controlled environments now (social media, the Mayhem Spotify conference, listening parties) to protect her mental health and help her stay grounded. 12

Bronco 13,391
I remember seeing tiktoks of fans swarming the hotel gates of where she was staying in Manchester as she was leaving. And like...if that was me? I'd have told the driver to floor it through em. 3
Robo Ga 15,352
I think above all she's protecting her energy. You can see it with the discipline she practices with her vocals during the show. I think she has a more holistic picture of her health and is taking her coaching very seriously, from not only her vocal coaches, choreographers, etc. but also her mental health team, who I'd imagine are telling her to limit her exposure to crowds/public where she can. It would be so energetically overwhelming to perform to these crowds every night... and it takes a lot of energy to brace yourself for that kind of attention. I think in the old days she threw "caution to the wind" in pursuit of her connection with fans, and that's why we saw more fan interaction/street looks etc. during previous tours. I think now, the show and her health (and her ability to complete the tour in full, while staying healthy) is her utmost priority. Almost everything is built around her ability to stay healthy and maintain her insane schedule. I think this is a natural evolution and very smart choice of hers. This is an evolution that began during the Chromatica Ball Tour and has continued since. 🤖⚡️ 8 3
Elizabeth 504
This is a really interesting topic, thank you for bringing it up! I don't think any of us can fully understand the toll having mass amounts of people screaming in your face to take pics and sign things for them would take on a person (unless any of you are secretly an a-list celeb ). As much as it must be nice knowing so many people adore you, having hundreds of people screaming and crying in your face every time you step outside must be an intense psychological experience. Plus in these situations outside hotels etc, there's almost always someone who takes it too far and ruins it for everyone else, or people who are not fans and are just autograph hunting, as well as paparazzi. I also have been reflecting a lot about fan interactions in the past and I think the era where fans would wait outside of hotels for hours on end and she would send food to them, post on Twitter about it and encourage them to stay there was also quite unhealthy for both Gaga and the fans who were there. Tbh, I think it only fuelled the parasocial relationship which existed both ways. (Not to mention the hotels must've HATED it, these are almost always high-end 5* establishments who I doubt wanted Gaga fans screaming outside for hours on end, disturbing other guests). As for her being less personal in shows, I didn't feel that at the show I went to (Manchester N2). There were some parts which I know she says at every show but I thought her interactions, particularly at the piano, felt genuine. AVeryGagaHolyDick 26,609
I think it’s fun when you’re new to hear people scream for you on the street, but at some point it gets to your head, you must be like “yes, I know… scream at the show instead” I think she loves to interact with people, but when they always act like you’re an animal it has to be damaging Edited Friday at 02:11 PM by AVeryGagaHolyDick
nodandsmile 10,997
she prioritizes her peace a lot in recent years as ANYONE should tbh! even on the internet, I remember when she went on LM.com then monsters went on there to talk sh*t about Sarah and she left right away she's been setting clear boundaries and I feel like as long as we don't cross them, we cool... her being super active on TikTok because there's less toxicity there for example, or the little gatherings she's done with fans this era! I think LM.com was a prime example of how intense the parasocial relationships were at that point. Some of the things being posted on there (by both Gaga and fans) were wildly inappropriate, but I think that came from Gaga not being a good place mentally at the time and probably not having the right support systems in place around her.
