Luv u Sum 2,410
i'm struggling with this as a career long fan of hers... i like what she's saying on this record but i feel like so much of the vocal and production delivery is the same and there's nothing new. don't get me wrong it's not like i think it's bad music at all like she is florence but there's nothing pulling me in like her albums did in the past. i had this same feeling with dance fever which is an album i never listen to
Agunimon 77
Been listening to this a lot. I do agree with another post that its not her best, but its absolutely in her top three for me. My top three are of course How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful - Dance Fever - and Everybody Scream. StrawberryBlond 14,966
What a good return to form. I am but a casual fan of her and while she's only made one amazingly good album in my view (Ceremonials), the music has always remained consistently decent all these years but not to the point where anything had blown me away for a while. This is her best overall body of work in years. My particular faves are Everybody Scream, Witch Dance, Music By Men, You Can Have It All and And Love. And here's the best part... not one bad track. Let me tell you, that's extremely difficult for any artist to do, even if it's just 12 tracks. Not even my ultimate faves can do that 9 times out of 10, there's always one mediocre track. But to have every track be passable? That deserves a gold star in and of itself. I daresay I've never experience an album where there wasn't one bad track, so way to go Florence. This was also released at the ideal time, Halloween, peak autumnal vibes, the perfect album for chilly days curled up beside a crackling fire with nature sounds outside, or alternatively, frolicking naked under the pale moonlight.
