Nemo 4,321
Not bad but I was hoping for a Pet Shop Boys cover tbh
jimmytimestep 2,758
This was/is absolutely amazing and I’m so grateful she chose to drop this right before stranger things’ release - not just to eviscerate him at his most public moment, but also, so she’s not in the same Grammys year as Gaga because this has HUGE AOTY potential. StrawberryBlond 14,960
I seem to be the only one that isn't feeling this album at all. I totally understand her pain and why she wanted to put it into music but that's just it, it doesn't work put into the medium of music. Talking this out in an interview, written in an autobiography or essay would be brilliant but sang? Far too mundane phraseology to put into song, so overly personal to the point where only she could relate to it, every song about the same thing and not one song you can actually do anything with. I like music to have a very clear purpose as to what it's for and this is completely aimless. She apparently wrote it in just 10 days and it shows. Just a stream of consciousness and little else. As it stands, 14 tracks and not a good one to be had. Sleepwalking, Just Enough and Fruityloop were the closest to something decent but didn't quite make it. Ruminating has to be the absolute, repetitive worst. I never claimed to be a big fan of her but her earlier music had something but she went downhill with Sheezus and never recovered and now she's making music that doesn't sound anything like she once made, not for the charts and not seemingly for anyone except herself. And of course, the critics are loving it because it's personal and vulnerable. But that doesn't make the music actually good.
