Its not that Deep honestly, people love tò write off newcommers. And Gaga was heavy on the pastiche, vintage vibe. I actually miss that blantant homage. It's this. Grace and Boy George were both known for being cruel, and both criticized multiple artists. Boy George ironically lavished praise on Gaga much later. It's not that deep and it's not like they hate other musicians, they are just...catty. The only real person I think Gaga had beef with was Madonna. Also, I wrote this below, but Gaga is often grouped in with Elton and Cher. All talented and can sing, but were often seen as overly "goofy" in a sense, and I think it made them easier targets to criticize and not take seriously.
GoldenNovember 641 Posted yesterday at 11:14 AM Share Posted yesterday at 11:14 AM (edited) Someone so full of hate can't possibly be at peace with themselves. Pitiful creature. Edited yesterday at 11:14 AM by GoldenNovember It's hard to light a candle, easy to curse the dark instead.
hELXIG 43,553 Posted yesterday at 11:41 AM Share Posted yesterday at 11:41 AM So many of Gaga's idols openly shat all over her at the start. I absolutely love that instead of falling into the same patterns she has always chosen the high ground,. And now that she herself is an established legend, who has inspired a new generation of artists who listened to her music growing up, she has chosen to be a kind and supportive mentor to them. Hearing that she gives people like Billie and Chappel her phone number for if they ever need support, and seeing compilations of todays young artists doting on her, and hearing things like Doechii's speech when she presented her with the innovator award.. warms my heart. She will never be a nasty, bitter, mean woman like Madonna and Grace I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin. 14

RAMROD 110,788 Posted yesterday at 12:25 PM Share Posted yesterday at 12:25 PM Let's just say this; It's the case of don't meet your idol, but than talking bad on these people that Gaga looked up to and ended up trashing her. I am glad Gaga brought the end of insecure bitchy divas era and pioneered more positive attitude and approach to another people in pop culture. All these famous people who think they can be mean and get away with it these days will find out quick that behavior is not tolerated anymore. Ladle Ghoulash 27,539
I love Grace, but I also think her comments are kind of ironic given how theatrical/affected/calculated she is in front of the camera. A bit of a “pot, meet kettle” moment (not that I think she’s “play acting” per se, but more that I could easily see someone saying that about her). JohnWayne92 2,272
Grace Jones says a lot of negative things about a lot of people - and honestly no one really knows who she is anymore. Perhaps if she wasn’t so bitter and rude people would be interested.

MACATL 1,635
I think she was fair - I kind of see her point. BUT, that said, I still feel if U don’t have anything nice or uplifting to say, zip it. No need to spread negativity. This could have been her “beautiful gowns” moment for Gaga.

AVeryGagaHolyDick 26,471
That was such a stupid comment to make. She was jealous cause she was over. Kayi 2,738
It's not because she's an artist that other shouldn't take inspo from her... This is ridiculous... There's no art without mimetism. And did Grace Jones revolutionned Pop music ? Not at all. Experiment =/= revolution And tbh it's not like if art wasn't something subjective, one's artist opinion shouldn' t be taken too seriously. They have their vision of art... Art critics have maybe more credibility and are maybe more scientific... But again they're super subjective too. Btw Bowie never criticized Gaga. Gaga wrote him a letter apparently. Queen members appreciate Gaga and collaborated with her twice. Michael Jackson apparently liked "Poker Face". So not every artist of legacies felt like Gaga was a threat to them. I'm a creator 💿 Idk why, but I wanted to say this :)
princedeeblebleble 2,065
Eh, if she had a great iconic music career I'd care about her comments, but she was a fashion/model icon more than anything so her criticism of Gaga was eh.
