Another low point already? This era deserved MORE

Guys, don’t come for me, but I’ve been feeling this for weeks. Are we entering a low point again? I mean, we were flying high this time last year when we got Die with a Smile, and maybe peaked around Abracadabra and the album release. But now that Gaga is touring, I feel like there's nothing really hyped outside the fandom. Is touring always a "low point" of an era? And did she start touring too early and miss the chance to release another single to expand this era? Maybe The Dead Dance had its moment, but it didn’t last long.

These days, I see more updates about Taylor on this forum, and even the news about Gaga joining The Devil Wears Prada movie didn’t bring that much hype—especially after her little cameo in Wednesday Season 2. I'm honestly worried that Gaga might not be able to keep the momentum going. Can she keep the hype around this era until next year’s Grammy?

What do you think? What should she do next?

I guess it can be seen as a low point if we've been on a generational high for an entire year :bionic:

She's busy.

But before most tours, she makes a backlog of projects that'll come out over the course of the tour. I imagine there's a few undisclosed projects to come.

Eras/album cycles are just becoming shorter and less eventful nowadays, for all artists.

The days of post-album singles, countless interviews, award show appearances, talk show appearances/performances, etc. are sadly over.

After mid-2010’s when streaming and social media took over there’s no more need for promotion as extensive as for example Born This Way era where every. single. day. in 2011 there would be something new, be it a new performance, interview, photoshoot or just Gaga serving a look whilst out and about. Nowadays it’s just lead single, second single, album, tour, Grammy’s. Maybe GMA, and a random radio interview here and there if lucky. Some artists barely even release singles and music videos anymore.

If anything, Gaga still did a lot more this era than certain other artists though, especially in March around album release time with SNL and all those other interviews, plus TDD. And she’s currently touring, that also explains why the era is not that eventful now.

why would the news of gaga having a cameo in a movie coming in the middle of 2026 generate any form of hype?

lets use common sense now

gosh, she is on tour, this is what HAPPENING, the tour is getting headlined wherever she goes.

Her not going to your city doesn't mean it's not hyped enough (yes i remember you posted another thread whining about her not touring your city).

I think it's just right now the tour is a focus point and so the hype is still there but not all at once as a fanbase because its not the Coachella and promo shows. The cities she tours in are feeling the high when she brings the show there. As fans we know she will eventually do something else to hype us all up but it also isn't unusual lately for her to not be constantly putting something out/doing something that deserves excessive attention. I think what she should do next is what she said, get married and try to become a mom and start her family. This was her own personal redemption era and she looks so healthy and happy and deserves the best. The fans will still always be here and ready to get excited when duty calls. I'm not surprised cameos and whatnot are not getting excess hype because we don't know much about what to expect.

As for the other threads, I mean I think we just like to **** on TS lol, but its fun to reflect on her career in threads and remember amazing moments without always wondering what comes next. That to me is the most amazing part of Gaga as an artist... we never will really know what she is going to do. I do think the length of this era for her has been appropriate, the tour is going to be going until 2026 and who knows what other surprises might pop up between now and the end of her tour.

Exactly! I was really shocked to see all the interviews and appearances she did for this album to promote it... lets not forget the amazing press conference with fans!

To be real- she has reached icon status and she doesn't need to kill herself by doing something everyday to promote herself!

Well, apart from the tour, I think the era ended with TDD. Let's meet again in 2029 for LG8, if the world (at least as we know it) still exists by then :flutter:

Yaaaas Gaga

Personally I think we've been served pretty well this era. There's been a tonne of live performances and a good selection of interviews. She's on tour now and it's important that her focus remains on that for the benefit of those that have spent $$$ on tickets. I'm sure she'll have a few more surprises for us before the era finishes but i'm not expecting anything major. All in all this era has been a great success and reminded me why i've been a Gaga fan since day one.

Right, and despite how iconic and nostalgic it will always be, it’s clear based on recent interviews that the level of promotion she did during Born This Way era in 2011 was just extraordinary (I mean she literally said once back then that she slept like a few hours a week, remember ‘bus - club - bus - ‘nother club - no sleep’) and not sustainable for both her mental as well as her physical health.

As much as I would love more content from her (interviews, performances, photoshoots), I also acknowledge that she has to take care of herself first and not risk overworking herself again. So ultimately I’m grateful for anything extra she does, especially when you consider a lot of promotion and events aren’t the norm anymore due to the change in music platforms, media consumption, etc. Nobody can ever deny the fact she is an extremely hard worker. I don’t think she’s ever taken a proper break in her career. Whenever she is not active, it always turns out she was working on something else in the meantime.
