It makes no sense to me how someone who’s known for being such a meticulous songwriter can’t have a moment of self reflection and self criticism, you’re standing in a pedestal that allows you to release music in whatever pace you want so why everything seems so rushed and half baked?

This is not a rant against taylor swift personally but she kinda embodies the “selling a product over making true art” aspect of our culture nowadays which I hate so much

I didn't even think about how the current political landscape has similarities to feudalism, but it does make sense. Loyality to authoritarian presidents and billionaires gets you more. Depressing, but very interesting.

Completely horrible news and even more now that Billboard and luminate seem to have revealed that Taylor’s organic success is actually in the 500k-800k figures, but all of her fans bought 1-2 copies of each thing she put out. It’s such a misleading accomplishment and a totally transactional record breakage
