I mean, I'm not saying it's a bad thing. The album is "all over the place," sonically speaking. It touches many different genres and styles that aren't necessarily "cohesive." But that's the record's strong point! It's not called MAYHEM for no reason.

Agree with everything else you said though. While I still adore Chromatica, I feel like it was a very safe album. It was almost like Gaga cosplaying as Gaga. MAYHEM feels a lot more authentic to who she is as a person/artist.

The idea I had in my head is too produced for her to do less and yes I know this is a problem of my own design
