Potential collab between Gaga and NIN/Trent Reznor

I kinda just wanted to make a thread to discuss this dream in one thread instead of bringing it up randomly in other threads. I noticed a lot of people wanting it, both in the Gaga fandom, and in the NIN fandom. There's a lot of things that has happened, mostly coincidental, that I'm sure it really just her wearing her influence/referencing it, or simply working with the same people, but these things have made me more and more hype for the potential of it happening. Wanted to talk about these, and also your wishes for what a Gaga x Trent Reznor collab would sound like, or what it could be. A full album? Mayhem remixes? A single feature? etc. And a space to share any fan mashups you dig, or even chat about your love for NIN.

Anyways, things that have happened that make me hopeful for a collaboration, although I'm not really expecting it, especially since a lot of these are coincidental I'm sure. Just lemme delulu for a moment :bradley: Let me know if there's more to add to this:

- she's had NIN listed as an influence since her MySpace days
- She covered NIN's version (iirc) of I'm Afraid of Americans, a song Trent appeared on the music video and remixes for. It's a staple song that he performs on tour
- Her stylist (I think it was Hunter Clem?) shared a story of her wearing that car dress, using the song Closer in the story
- She included multiple NIN songs on her Sirius XM radio station, and cited NIN as a big inspiration for Mayhem. Closer, Hurt (I thought Down In It was there too, but maybe I'm misremembering things)
- Shes implied she's met him multiple times, using the word "stoked" to describe it, meaning it must have been a positive experience for her
- Trent has liked an Instagram post reporting how she said she "blacks out" in his presence, could imply he finds amusement out of it, in a good way
- She wore a NIN sweater
- Trent's wife Mariqueen follows/knows(?) the designer Gaga has worked with for her bodysuit at Mayhem Ball (Zana Bayne), obviously this is more coincidental and celebs share designer contacts. That same designer attended NIN's LA shows two weeks ago, and attended with Hunter
- The creative directors/studio Gaga worked with (MTLA) for Harlequin, Mayhem's album artwork/marketing/visual videos and the Disease Music video, are the same folks that worked on the Tron NIN reveal, NIN's recent Peel It Back tour, concert visuals, and the Alive As You Need Me to Be music video. Note that this small studio opened last year, includes a long time Gaga collaborator Todd Tourso since 2010. Publicly, their first two clients seem to be Gaga and NIN, but I'm sure there's more that isn't posted about? They also attended many of the NIN shows.
- Sarah Tanno last week shared a TikTok using a Closer mashup
- Tosh, her drummer, did a cover of NIN's Wish last week
- Trent is generally more open to pop music these days: working with Halsey, enjoying Espresso, and Dua Lipa's Levitating, in which he said he teared up to. He's also a Rosalia fan.

I really want to know what they talked about! Was it in passing at an awards show/some kind of exclusive event, or more one on one?
I think the only thing that will make me believe something is happening is if Trent attends the Mayhem Ball, and/or she follows him/NIN or vise versa lol. Otherwise I think it's just coincidental/sharing contacts/representing her current influences :messga:

In February, I got a barricade seat at one of the LA shows, and I am hoping to give her the NIN hat I bought at their tour. And if I fail, I'd love to meet someone who can do it for me the next night...:laughga:

As for what I love about NIN: Trent's work is so versatile, if you wanna go hardcore, noisy, dark industrial, you've got Broken and TDS. If you wanna wear more electronic stuff that's less harsh, you've got Hesitation Marks. If you want the funk, you've got Only, All Time Low, and even Happiness in Slavery. He's also not too shy with disco (liking Dua Lipa, and The Hand That Feeds DFA remix). When people want Gaga to go "industrial", to me the perfect way to do that is look towards Trent's artistry and formula. He's using pop song structures, melodies, experimenting with sounds, is also influenced by Bowie and Prince. He's not a one trick pony doing the same, tired industrial thing. So I hope that if Gaga does more "industrial" sounding work, it's not all just clones of Disease (which is a top 5 song for me), but rather a wide range like NIN. And NOT what Poppy was doing. No shade, but it's just not "Gaga" feeling

100000000.7% here for a collab. Preferably a whole project but I'll gladly settle for a song and live performance

This is my Hannah Montana™️ lipgloss.

At this point that collab is long due. She loves them and I'm pretty sure they're amazed by her being a fan. This and the fact that her overall music and late desire for industrial rock makes a perfect combo... Oh god I would die if so
