It’s interested because it is in fact a very political pick and an very important one, but the Super Bowl is notorious for wanting to silence acts and have them be as neutral as possible. I saw rumors on twitter saying the NFL was having fights with Roc Nation because they don’t want any political statements and Jay Z wants artists to be as free as possible with their show, and you know Bad Bunny of all people will absolutely make a statement. 

This will also boost Bad Bunny’s chances at AOTY you know :0

I can see him putting a good show full of homage and references to latin culture, and more so Puerto Rico. Hope he goes BIG for this one, he has the momentum.

I’m Latino and NOT a Bad Bunny Fan and I can name you like 4-5 just off the top of my head:

Titi Me Pregunto, Ojitos Lindos, Baile Inolvidable, Safaera and I Like It Like That. 

And If I think hard enough I could name like 3-4 more tbh. However all of them are in Spanish (except the Cardi B collab) and he doesn’t really have any “global” smash hit imo. I think it’s an important choice, but one that Americans will eventually find boring. I can see his performance being praised globally but domestically it will be panned.

This is a very interesting choice and talking about the very few males who can possibly put on a great show, he’s probably one of them, again, POSSIBLY. 
Having a Latin act on that stage at this point and political environment is also pretty significant.
