The Troy era was beyond amazing from a fan perspective.  It was such a fun experience to be a lady Gaga fan during that time.

however, we know that for Gaga- it was exhausting and intense. And on top of that I don’t think there was any friendship between her and Troy- it was clearly all business.

so I am glad that Gaga has a manager now who she feels safe with and can trust.

of course, no matter who is managing her, we all want to relive the fame, the fame monster, and born this way eras.  They really were so spectacular and Gaga sacrificed so much of herself to put herself ON TOP of the game and DELIVER.

so while being a Gaga Stan from the start and recognizing that the fun (for us) is over and now we are lucky to get whatever we do get, at least Gaga (it seems like) has more freedom and control and work at a pace that she is capable of - and ultimately that is most important.

but I cannot deny, that stanning Gaga during the Troy day was never frustrating or disappointing until the end of his time when ARTPOP started.  Stanning Gaga with Bobby as manager is like watching paint dry sometimes and often feels dull outside of these rare “a star is born” or “abracadabra” type moments.

so from a human standpoint, I am happy for Gaga to be managed by Bobby.  From a client/customer, pop star obsessed gay man, Lady Gaga stan-  Troy definitely gave us a pop mega star experience of a life time in those short 5 years.

Bobby has done a phenomenal job since becoming her manager. I actually think he’s smarter than Troy Carter tbh. He understands that Gaga needed longevity, not just toss her aside when she starts to underperform like Troy did.

idk me personally being a gaga fan has always and continues to be very fun for me.

I agree with what everyone else is saying, Bobby cares about her well being and I think that's the most important.

asking this question, knowing how she worked under Troy, seems insulting to Bobby tbh. He's not only a great manager, he's also one of the best in the business if we consider Gaga's career trajectory from ARTPOP's album release week till now. Of course he had the benefit of working with a gold mine of talent, but a lot of people (Troy included) would be more than happy to misuse it for their benefit.

I call Bobby names whenever I feel like a fussy stan but I know he always thinks about what's best for her and I hope they continue their partnership forever.

Is there some reason my LG7 isn't here? Has she died or something?

actually it starts way before ARTPOP:

she had a terrible habit of over hyping and under delivering (probably due to label/management meddling), thankfully she learned to keep (mostly) quiet post ARTPOP until something is about to release but it does mean quieter periods are quieter

mother, what must i do?

Okay actually true

but of course it was a result of both Gaga and Tony having huge ambitions and drive to deliver deliver deliver that inevitably something’s got put on the back burner- despite that we still GOT SOOOOO MUCH.

we for sure did but it's also important to remember those were her debut years so they were working hard on getting her name global + it was the digital age of music sales, the beginning of the decline of physical sales

if you look other big acts today, their eras are also much smaller than previous decades... pop music is in such a miserable state that we're actually one of the luckier fanbases who still gets music videos :franminervini: the debut acts of today still make the effort to appear on tv and every award show :franminervini:

Not gonna lie, Bobby is good for Gaga but y’all gassing him up :saladga: Met him in person and he is NOT nice, constanttttt attitude. Saw him leaving the Met Life venue after TCB and he was putting a guitar in the trunk of a car, dropped it and I saw someone run up to help him. He gave them the absolute NASTIEST LOOK, DID NOT SAY THANK YOU AND SLAMMED THE DOOR IN THEIR FACE TO GET INTO THE CAR!! Don’t know if he was just in a bad mood but :huntyga:

Honestly some of it will be down to label blocks, but I think the main cause was Gaga being too close to fans.

Like we saw too much of the bts and as a result got fed way too many things that were never going to happen with or without the label blocking it.

If anything, Troy ****ed up by letting her essentially daily vlog the creative process. Because fans will never appreciate that just because an artist writes 100 songs for an album - it doesn't mean 100 complete songs, or 100 good songs lol

I think the teases we got from Paris for Mayhem are the best way to get that bts glimpse at what is coming vs live blogging from the studio
