I still say that was ridiculous :icant:

Ask any Florida native, that storm was literally nothing to be worried about. Especially by the time she actually cancelled, it has already moved on and there was only light rain for the rest of the night if that :nails:

This! I need that date ASAP so I can start planning again :cheeky:

It’s really never about the rain itself. Thunderstorms are fairly unpredictable and there are bylaws venues can’t just ignore when it comes to preventing lightning strikes. Nothing happened but there’s not way they could have known that so they shut it down.

Perhaps indirectly.

Im sure she didnt make up the vocal strain but maybe if she had to take some stuff off her plate to rest she chose the tour over tv appearance who knows

def wasn't implying she made it up, but she's probably exhausted and has a big promo week coming up

I do wonder if there were like additional insurance/state restrictions on when she could perform again as a result of that storm.

There was an issue with the USA v England rugby match this summer where it had to be delayed starting, then they paused mid match as well because of lightning strikes within a 10km radius. And then they weren't allowed to resume again until there had been 30 minutes without a recorded lightning strike within the 10km radius of the stadium.
That is due to the sport governing body rules, but I wouldn't be surprised if there may be similar stipulations with insurance for outdoor events.

What if she shot those already and that extra effort caused the vocal strain?

She's not gonna say publicly "I've been shooting a couple of performances in my time off the tour" just like that :oprah:

She would never do that

Gaga has definitely done that. Only tours she completed are fame ball, monster balls, and ARTPOP

Pronounced like “Balenciaga” . Emphasis on the “Ga”

I think these TV shows are taped live or the day before. I don’t think with her tour schedule she would’ve been able to pre-record a second performance

Oh probably. I doubt it was even her decision, just the venue trying to rid itself of any potential liability.

It's just funny how we Floridians basically scoff at anything less than a category 4 hurricane and even then we're just like "bring it on :nails:"

This is ultimately a good thing. If the vocal strain was truly serious she would’ve already canceled the upcoming shows and this appearance. The fact she’s adding more promo instead of getting rid of it shows that she’s confident she’ll be ok by then.

That is false, as I was there. The storm flooded parts of the stadim, and was severe. It posses extreme risks and the lightning was lunatic. And yes it cleared for a moment before we got hit again to where she officially cancelled after waiting for hours to go back on.

What?! Girl is busy as ****...

I wish her a well-deserved break and hope she somehow makes it through the year.

Next year, hopefully, she'll have more time off, rest, and maybe some family planning time with Michael.

The MAYHEM era has easily become one of my favourites. She keeps on feeding us and I’m loving it

I was also there and no, it really wasn't that bad tbh. There was some heat lightning and a solid half hour of Florida's classic "a sheet of solid rain and then nothing"

As someone who witnessed someone get hit directly by lightning at a concert you can never be too safe.
