They said at the beginning of the season they were waiting for a new spirit guide. Gaga’s character could appear in flashbacks and spirit form to interact with cast. Then speak telepathically to Wednesday. That way Gaga could have a bigger presence on the show/season without committing to an appearance as she could just do a voice over.
