It's $80 because she can't charge more, otherwise, she would.

Okay but she didn’t so what now?

I’m not here to defend Katy I really don’t care about her, but the base prices for the tour were fine compared to other artists including Gaga so let’s maybe point fingers at them instead of punching down at miss irrelevant since 2013

not bad tbh. she’s one of those legacy artists that even though are in the depths of khiadom regarding her new music, her past success was strong enough to make people want to attend the tours to hear the hits

Its absolutely a flop era in terms of album commercial success and brand image.

But tour wise, she's had a very good era. Plenty of sell out shows even in historically difficult touring markets.

Not convinced we'll see her for awhile now though

Tbf, tours of this sized production might not make that much money at all if that many dates only yielded 15M

Concernts are expensive to do now a days. Venue rental, dancers, props, security etc. Some cities may even require permits i wouldnt be surprised. Then theres taxes and record label share

We see $80M but Katy herself is only making a fraction of that

I agree its still a lot of money

i read somewhere that just shipping the eras tour stage from location to location was 15M :saladga:

Tbh if someone offered me a ticket I'd go and see Katy live even if she does have a horrible voice it's probably a big, fun show

But her recent (past 10 years) music sucks the tits of shart

At least something good for her. She has received so much **** lately, I kinda feel sorry for her.

Well, colour me surprised. Ok, a lot of these dates didn't hit the threshold to be considered sell-outs but overall number of dates have compensated for this to bring the numbers up. Don't know how much she'll see at the end of it though as ticket prices weren't super expensive and she's going to be so many places that transportation and accommodation costs will be super high. But she's sold more than her California Dreams tour (1 million+ tickets) and almost as much as Witness World Tour (1.2 million+ tickets and they were on sale before the album so people bought them blind before she had her downfall). It looks like people went to hear the nostalgic hits, especially if they couldn't see her Vegas show. That could be the reason that she had much fewer American dates than she used to and didn't have demand for second shows as a lot of those people probably already saw her residency if they wanted to hear her old stuff. Her Vegas date had just over 7k people for a reason. But she does have some stadium dates coming up in SA and China and that'll bring it up even more. The way this is going, it'll be her second most attended tour after Prismatic Tour (1.9 million people). I guess this is a ray of light in this winter of her life.

Thought for a minute that was for city to city but that cost was over the course of the entire tour, right? It's no wonder that island nations and far-flung locations so rarely get toured.
