I've seen some speculation that the dolls in the video are animated by AI, not sure if this is true, but I certainly understand that criticism if true

not sure though, since Tim Burton has been pretty verbally against it

Read your comment again - you're saying we shouldn't feel hyped for a Collab with Tim Burton and that it's on us.

Well, of course, it's on us and of course anyone would be extremely hyped for a collab with Tim Burton.

And we're entitled to feel disappointed by the end result too. If it was a different director, I would feel just as disappointed.

This reminds me of Stupid Love MV - but even SL has something closer to a story line than this video.

apart from the tim burton disappointment i loved disease video and even abra. That was beautiful. But one i miss is the humor, eitherwise it really looks like anything

Give us the dolls spooky but maybe they get cunty for no reason. We don't need lipstick out of a gun everytime but those touches are so nice. 

Ghosts with just the slippers doing some cool choreo with some nightmare before chritmas flare, and she running from some fantasy castel would be more what i expected. But even just gaga interacting with the slippers that are animated or in this case the dolls that aren't just being spooky. Something more animated and maybe surreal. why not? The make up that seem like cracks that lights up and pulses

Or even they both make fun of the genre they use. And expectations to themselves. This is like her everyday routine. I prefer the song without the video. Though Gaga has enough charisma to make it work

Tim Burton is one of the most loved fantasy/horror directors known for his amazing visuals and stories. KNOWN FOR ALICE IN WONDERLAND, CORPSE BRIDE, SWEENEY TODD, BEETLEJUICE,……. And it’s “our fault” for having “high” expectstions for his collab with Gaga ??

maybe the fact that you and all those other people/fans - who make that same type of comment (basically saying **** off for having an opinion) -  just got used to not having high expectations when it comes to Gaga’s projects —> doesnt that say enough…?

Watched it several times. I really love it, a spooky/80s comedy-horror inspired theme music video was a must in her videography, so this feels like justice was served. Great scenes, maximizing the "little" they had. Very accurate. I just really like it a lot.

Something that is not fully clicking with me is that the frontal close up (idk if that's the proper name) where Gaga and the other dolls dance is kinda giving "rooted specifically for TikTok". Which is not necessarily bad, it's just that I'm not used to such a thing from her. Abracadabra, in the other hand, was filmed like a normal music video where all the dance group scenes were mixed. Idk how to explain it. 

Nevertheless, an instant classic video. It gives strength to the MAYHEM visuals too

I already watched it 3 times to look for all the details and I myself probably won't revisit the video for a while, but I do that with all for videos... You can't beat a dead horse into the ground! Walk away once you've hit your viewing limit because it makes it all the better to go back on once you get the hankering

It’s cute and fun. Just nothing amazing. 

I think a lot of fans know that there are better quality tracks that deserved a video/single treatment from Mayhem  

But this is totally fine for a soundtrack.

I'm not sure if it was AI since I haven't seen anything about that yet... If Burton is against it then I bet they were animatronic or puppets
