I mean… yeah

it’s the same for loving and supporting a LOT of people -  popstars, rappers or otherwise; who are notoriously homophobic, transphobic and racist.

Why would you wanna date someone who idolises a drug addict with an IQ of 20 and married to a literal ped*phile :rip:

I see some truth in this but at the same time, you can form objective opinions about someone's artistry without endorsing their character. You can like a melody without liking the lyric. You can like an album without liking the artist.

Yeah but to call yourself a Barb implies that you like Nicki enough to endorse her

Yes but this is about someone who is a Stan not a casual fan. I’m a Stan of Gaga because I endorse her message, morals, music and personal decisions. Same would go for them.

Ok I guess this makes sense. Unless they specifically separated their opinions on her music from her character

I personally don’t agree with you. I feel like the connection you create with an artist through the music will naturally develop a personal attachment - which is an often overlooked behavior imo - due to similar principles, just like when it happens when you make friends with other people.
Its part of human nature, there’s always something relatable that resonates and builds that connection.

I find Nicki a very talented musician, never been a huge fan but used to actively listen a lot to some songs from Queen. But then, after the controversies, I was turned off gradually until the point I’ve lost all interest for her.

Of course, I don’t wanna sound judgmental or anything like that as we all have our flaws and mistakes but we are able to see when someone is willing to learn from them to evolve and make better decisions, or at least, have common sense about life in general.

I think you can SAY that but when you’re willingly giving someone money you’re advancing their “message” or whatever you wanna call it (although she probably snorts most of their money anyway).

It’s the same as JK Rowling, people can say they’re separating her “artistry” from her views on trans people… but if you’ve gave her so much as $1 that’s 1 more dollar she had to fund anti trans foundations she now invests in so you yourself have invested in that whether you like it or not.

it’s the same for everyone, our money helps fund EVERYTHING our idols do whether it’s a makeup brand or a lgbtq+ foundations, or bailing your child m*lesting husband out of jail with your fans money.

I hate Apple but I’ve also given them a lot of money. :messga:
