I know some say its “childish” and “immature” but isnt the song supposed to be from the perspective of a teen? I think she nailed it. IMO, Hair and HML definitely deserved to be realeased. The BTW era could easily had 6-7 singles. The order of reléase is what mattered. If it was me, the obvious first 3 singles shouldve been: 1. BTW (February 2011) 2. MTN (May 2011) 3. TEOG (August 2011) Those 3 are bombastic and mature and “different” from Gagas previous eras. Also I would keep “You And I “ as a PROMO / RADIO SINGLE ONLY. It dora t make sense as a worldwide reléase. The next singles would be… 4. Judas (December 2011) 5. Hair (March 2012) 6. Heavy Metal Lover (May 2012) YES, Judas was MADE to be a single! Its a throwback to her past hits with BTW dressing and religious twist. After 3 (4 if you count “You And I”) successful singles, Gaga is back to her old tune of shocking and attention grabbing. It might underperform in the States but the MV would still attract people, keeping the era afloat. It would be a hit worldwide. “Hair” as a 5th reléase would offer a softer and radio friendly óption after “Judas”. At this point she is overexposed so it just does moderately well but a nice meaningful single for her fans. HML as the final single 1 year after the álbum reléase would SLAY!
