Even though Ava's song chords progression seems identical, the chorus which unfolds over 8 x 4/4 bars is different on the 7th and 8th bar with a minor chord instead of a major one in BR studio version. Confusion here is understandable. These chords are incorrectly played in many covers of the song. Even Gaga, when solo piano, sometimes misplays that chord, thus repeating the samey chord of bar 3 and 4 on bar 7 and 8. For the curious, just g00gl for 'Bad Romance chorus chords progression'. But my problem with this, as with her last album is that it feels like a playlist, not an "album". Just because every song sounds like it came out of the same machine doesn't mean it's cohesive.. don't know if this makes sense, but it would explain why a lot of her songs somewhat work on a top40 pop playlist but not on a record 🤷🏼♀️ i only listen to one song, the one that recommended by Zedd i'm not into her songs at all, i only liked 2 of her songs Sweet but Psycho, Maybe you're the problem I shine more in the dark. His answer: we can't be friends, bye.
nickkoko 922
I wanted to love it, but the only tracks that really stuck with me were the title track and World's Smallest Violin. Fight For Me is decent as well. The rest, though, was just not for me.
huttont 5,469
Individually, each song is fine. Nothing that truly stands out among the rest. It’s all very “samey” the whole time. No songs to bring the tone up or down or change the vibe. I don’t think it’s as bad as everyone is making it out to be. I’ll definitely give it some spins
HausOfHarlow 383
It's giving 143 - it lacks creativity, it feels uninspired, feels like it could've been written by AI - but on the flip side, sometimes, I love a basic pop album with no feelings or emotions - just pure cheap pop fun. I enjoy listening to 143 off and on, and I think I'll feel the same way about Don't Click Play. After a few listens, I think it's just an easy and fun listen, allowing for a temporary dopamine high in the ears. Title track, Lovin Myself, Wet Hot American Dream, Fight for Me, and Skin In the Game feel like the highs for me at the moment.
blzr 1,589
I actually love it and I think it’s my favourite Ava album. Been streaming all weekend. Don’t click play, Wet hot American dream, sucks to be my ex, skin in the game, world’s smallest violin are among my favourites! Not sure if she’s sampling anyone with this one? I hear some similarities with other songs, but no outright sampling. Am I wrong? Edited August 25 by blzr
