Madame Goo Goo 3,857
Her career is not gonna survive that long of a wait I’m just gonna be honest. She needs to hustle back to the studio and release Future Nostalgia 2.0 ASAP. Lady Gaga doesn't owe us anything 7

She might not have that huge fan base but she’s very much appreciated in the industry, it’s only an year hiatus and she’ll be fine.

Her tour is ending in December 2025, 1 year to rest and record an album seems reasonable tbh, but I surely get your point!
Anderson123 38,283
Love her and hope she does a great comeback, she deserves a break. Radical Optimism deserved better and it's still a great album but coming from the Barbie hype it felt like she never left between Future Nostalgia long era and that. Sometimes you need people to miss you. 1 1
dit 46,449
umm....? She needs to QUICKLY work on releasing something better quality and reinvigorate her career by end of 2025 or early 2026 AND then she can take 2027 off or whatever. Not releasing a record soon is going to end her career because Radical Optimism made ZERO noise

Not releasing a record soon is going to end her career because Radical Optimism made ZERO noise the issue wasn’t that RO was low quality though — the rollout was a complete MESS due to being managed by her own father. she split with her FN era managers because she felt as though she was being overworked… meanwhile girl is constantly on vacation love her and love that she has control over her schedule now cuz she always deliver quality pop music, but the bigger issue is that she NEEDS to do huge promo in order to be *that* girl again; and she simply isn’t into that. FN had the iconography, visuals & music down pat… whereas RO had the music down pat, just lacked a real musical identity. GIVE US POP STAR DUA AGAIN!!! PLEASEEE!!! flying like 1000 birds

Also think of it, the RO era is going on for almost 2 years and what did we get in terms of promo and visuals? -> Houdini in November 2023 -> She teased Training Season 1 month before releasing it in February 2024 -> Illusion in April 2024 And.... that's it. These Walls was sent to radios and is still being played. She then started Festival Tours in the Summer and "upgraded" this to a tour starting in November. By the time the tour ends it is December 2025, so 1,5 year without anything new. Compare this to the Eras Tour for example: It went on for 2 years but Taylor kept releasing new stuff -> Speak Now TV + Video for ICSY -> 1989 TV -> TTPD with Fortnight as a single
Idefix1999 60
If she does a FN 2.0 right next year, many on here will say that she clings to the success of FN and her sound doesn't evolve or that she is risking overexposure etc... She deserves a year off. Her tour is a success (yes, it is) and RO wasn't that much of a disappointment as many on here claim it to be. Although I still would like to know about the music video she recorded last year in between her summer shows. Maybe she uses the year off to work on a different sound. Who knows... And Lorde or many other artists also disappear for some time in between eras and their careers aren't ruined. So take your time Dua, there will be people waiting for that album patiently

Cavadour 2,350
FN was phenomenal. I sure listened to it a lot. Watching Ghosted yesterday, I got an intense flashback when Pretty Please and Love Again appeared in the soundtrack. RO never really clicked for me. Well produced but so obviously overshadowed by Dua's previous masterpiece. A welcome hiatus might be a good thing to rest and recharge the creativity. Any other kind of comparison apart, the struggle to find a new a breath of inspiration is striking even the biggest artists... Late to the party but I got a diamond heart
GovernmentHookah 897
That’s a year and a half from now. I’m all for her needing to rest and recover from a her last album to produce better quality for her next one.
HermesG 1,597
I think she need to rest for 10 years minimum
auraa 44
she will probably drop 5 or 6 promo singles in the meantime then stack them in the album
Gagasdisease 196
omg i love Dua so much i hope she doesn't take such a long time to come back with something that's just good but not great like Radical Optimism would love for her to try a new sound and push for stronger visuals this time
