A Fried Egg 8,846
This song is kinda genius? Lady Gaga is showing us once more that she’s ahead of the game.. Madonna/ Taylor/ Katy/ Sabrina could never pull off a song like this. When it hits, it really HITS, like a gothic/ alien/ body horror video game and my skin becomes clearer with every listen. A new experience I didn’t know I needed. 10/10. I liked the music video at first but I think she should have gone with the aesthetics of the lyric video. 6/10. I’m actually coming to terms with Mayhem’s chaotic sound. It’s a bit of everything but also showing that Lady Gaga excels at all of it. The woman is a musical genius. I remember a comment somewhere that said Disease will revive in the future and I believe that. Her time will come. Simon 1,379
Disease is this kind of song that no one in the main pop business beside her could make it work. Vocals, commitment, crazy NiN type instrumental, the whole vibe. This is definitely a gem on the album. Edited July 24 by Simon 19 2
Starmie25 18,598
I know fans criticised this track for being too loud and lacking lyrically, but its really not a big deal. Not everything she writes has to be "WRITING GENIUS". It's ok to have a bit of fun with her dark tracks. Her last 2 albums were deep as all hell maybe even more than some of her peers. Let the woman live in her fantasy about fighting skeletons in the sandbox. Edited July 24 by Starmie25 1 2

Joke aside, the end of Disease is so iconic! The loud vocals, the key change for the ohhoohhohh... The head voice at the end! I wouldn’t say it’s this wholly unique song—it does what a lot of Gaga’s best stuff does which is trails and gets nearly close to cribbing its influences outright, and does it in such a way and with such conviction that no one but her in her space could do it. Everyone wants eras these days but the music always sounds like a half baked compromise that refuses to leave a certain pop staleness. But I think Gaga, even if she doesn’t always do it, is *willing* to do it and that makes a difference. Disease is a great example where she is still pop but soooooo far from prettiness and femininity that a lot of pop has rn that she stands out. She’s okay with pop sounding grating, hard, ugly, grinding, sludgy, corny, etc. Mayhem doesn’t follow that a lot but the first half of what I said is still true: she’ll follow and commit to influences faster and more intensely than anyone else in her space. Zombieboy is pure corny novelty pop, for instance. Not a soul could do that song and make it sound like a real song while also still being funny, too. She gets it Edited July 24 by Ziggy
nATAH 48,896
it STILL sounds just as fresh as day 1, i can't believe it that final chorus is musical perfection, imagine being in the studio running that back and realising you've nailed it mother, what must i do? 3 2 1
Davidsdaze 413
For this song to have quickly dethroned all my other songs on the Spotify year in review stats last year in like a month, I’d say I was, am, and will continue to be obsessed with Nine inch Gaga If Anne Hathawill, Anne Hathaway. 6

djfreemymind 923
One of her most underrated bangers "What does my inner demon sound like?" One of my favorite gargar interviews ever "I wanted it to feel like the record was about to explode." So glad she opened the album with this ... encapsulating both live instrumentation and electronic production, the lyrics and vibe really indicate the start of a journey Really hoping the deluxe/Mistress of Mayhem includes more Disease/perfect celebrity/Can't Stop the High-like moments Spoiler AND I STILL WANT A FULL DEATH METAL COVER 🎸🖊️ Spoiler Mr. Polansky on the pen, y'all lmao Edited July 24 by djfreemymind Maestro, play me your symphony; I will answer to anything. GAGA IS GROOVY 294
I'm afraid it can't be topped for me. The drips and drops of information, then the spotify hints, the eerie website, the teaser video and then the music/video drop!? Absolute CLASS and ARTISTRY!!! DarkGa is about as good as it gets! 2 2 1
