The US has been Israels biggest funder, and Trump has called shots already on Israels original attack. Honestly, based on his recent behavior, I don’t really think this is true. Trump’s admin has been trying to paint itself as the “anti-interventionist/no new wars” government and, before Israel struck Iran, it looked like he was actively trying to de-escalate tensions between the two because he knew Israel getting involved would mean the US would be roped in and it would reflect poorly on him politically. For example, a week or two before Israel’s strikes, Trump was desperately trying to get the leadership in Iran to re-enter the Iran Nuclear Deal while simultaneously begging Netanyahu not to attack Iran. Netanyahu, knowing he has Trump and the US by the balls, called Trump’s bluff and did it anyway. Then, the State Department rushed to say they had nothing to do with it, then Israeli defense officials came out and said the US was involved and I fully believe Trump eventually co-signed Israel’s statement to save face and is now doubling down because Netanyahu painted him into a corner. I can see this as well. The main thing that keeps me skeptical is simply just knowing Trumps lying streak. You can't trust a damn thing out of his mouth. IDK, it's very complex. Morphine Prince 109,709 Posted June 22, 2025 Share Posted June 22, 2025 Let's all remember Trump withdrew from the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran in his first term which pushed Iran to more freely pursue a nuclear weapon in the first place. The deal gave sanction relief in exchange for limited resources for nuclear production. With the US pulling out, imposing sanction again, and punishing those who traded with Iran, they basically gave Iran no incentive to continue. This led to Iran basically abandoning the terms of the deal in 2020. Whether they are close to one or not is irrelevant because the results would have been/is the same. I agree. Although I absolutely hate Trump, I don't think he wanted this, at least in the beginning. But he caved to Lord Bibi like the TACO he is. Now he doesn't want to appear weak, and that's all it's about for him. Israel really does own the US. They basically have Congress bought out.
