It seems people forget that Gaga has been snubbed by the Grammys multiple times and still hasn’t won in any of the major categories. It’s honestly hard to believe, considering the number of iconic hits she’s delivered over the years yet the Academy continues to withhold the recognition she deserves. Sure, she’s won in the pop/other categories but an artist of her calibre should at least have one major win by now. 

She absolutely should have won Album of the Year for The Fame Monster but that didn’t happen. 

Also Poker Face, Bad Romance, Shallow, Die With A Smile all major hits of their respective years and still no Song or Record of the Year wins. It’s ridiculous.

Exactly, even if radio ends up remembering gaga exists it will be 4 months of crawling for some meaningful audience... And the US streams are really underwhelming for the album tracks.

OT: Genuinely happy for Sabrina though, just poor timing.

Deluxe is the only realistic option IMO and the only option that can actually produce another big hit, the album tracks won't cut it I fear.

no i completely understand what i don’t think people get is the grammys are notorious for not awarding its artist or giving proper recognition

Sabrina has never won AOTY and this album has not even come out yet, so I don’t know why we’re all assuming this is the album that will challenge Gaga. I think it’s interesting that her team is getting her into the race with the timing of the release, and she’s definitely riding momentum, but Gaga has had a phenomenal year and Mayhem is her best reviewed album yet. Gaga has a lot of goodwill at the Grammys and I think the “it’s her time” narrative will be a lot stronger with Gaga than with Sabrina at this point.

I'm all for Gaga winning AOTY, but it's also ok if she doesn't win one ever, it doesn't make her less of an artist or less successful. 

Many talented artist didn't win it.

That's why I think Bey shouldn't have won for CC, she didn't deserve it, she was only entitled for it, there were better albums on the list.
