There are tons of other major artists who have yet to be asked so this would seem extremely out of place

I was gonna say she's too new than realized she's in the game since +9 years already, wtf 

However I feel like she's still not as iconic as Miley, Taylor or Adele who would slay the superbowl (and probably refused it already)

But she would nail it, plus she's a gay icon, a woman and political, so we need her

For those who compared dua with gaga, seriously? Even in gaga's "flop" era Joanne, which was when she did the sb, she was still a bigger name/influence than dua's now. You can't measure something like this with how many years into their career...

That was not the point. Dua has 3 album cycles, 1 more than Katy and one less than Gaga. She would do it at the same time Gaga did it and later than Katy did it in their respective careers. Dua currently has 12 songs that pulled 1B+ streams, Katy has 8, Gaga has 7. Talking numbers and stats these are three completely different ways to look at it. 

if you look at numbers there is no real argument on her „not being there yet“, so the arguments you guys are making are „feels“ and vibe based, completely subjective. So be honest and don‘t act like there‘s any objective to it.

Not sure where this Dua is not iconic narrative comes from. She has 87mil followers on IG

Dua lipa is iconic to the Gen Z, just like how Gaga is iconic to Gen Y (mainly)

She is too "fresh" probably because she wasn't really your generation. You probably grew up with Katy/gaga etc and felt that they're big part of your life.

Stats dont lie. Dua lipa has more streams, more IG followers than current katy/gaga. I dont think she is THAT far from Katy/Gaga 10 years ago. Radical Optimism may have slowed her momentum but i think her numbers of hits and relevancy to the new gen are undeniable
