She seems to have her heart in it, but I just can't get on board the Addison Rae train for some reason.

Idk it just comes off a bit inauthentic. I feel like the song doesn't match her. I feel like if the music was a bit more bubblegum pop, full throttle pop it would be believable

Authentic or not, all the songs of her album so far are bops, otherwise she wouldn't have garnered such a cult following so quickly.

I think it's her vocal technique, it lacks of ethereal feeling I get from FKA twigs and Yeule, or the "effortless" sexual vibe I get from Normani.

I liked this. But I still find her music to lack weight. I listen to it and then I tend to forget about it and move on.

Nobody talk about how good is this music video ? Every of her music videos are also so greatly executed :vegas:

The music video sold me on it. The song is good, the moments of vintage aesthetic sound help it out. The video, tho, really drives the whole thing home imo

I would say that’s your preconceived notion based on her being big on TikTok and the image she built on that, which by her own admission was not authentic to her as she was just out to get a check. Listening to her talk about music in interviews and looking at her personal playlists, it’s very clear this is very authentic to her

a combo of Gaga and Britney with her own Addison charm, I love it.

Ugh, she did it again :lolly:

Love that every song/music video has its own vibe and this one is her most fun since Diet Pepsi I think...

To anyone saying she's inauthentic, I'd say that it's probably your pre-conceived idea. She writes/co-writes all of her music and works largely with a female producer/songwriter duo which is rare to see.

And if you watch her interviews you can tell this is coming from her and she's not just being thrown ideas at, so I don't know how that could be inauthentic. She found her sound and image and I think it's refreshing. Truth is, a lot of girls want to give what she's giving but they can't. :ohwell:
