kudos to her for having an all female music team and i like most of the songs so far, but idk i cant get behind visuals that, while good, just feel like scraps of every other artist of the last 20-30 years with someone less camera compelling at the center. In the stretching scenes i see beyonce's doc style. in the kooky home video thing there's mtv bjork. in the studio there's gaga. in diet pepsi it's clearly lana del rey inspo. i get we're our inspirations, but i just can't shake that it's not synthesizing into anything in particular imo. Gaga cribbed a LOT of madonna's iconography and even mannerisms early on (mostly TFM imo), but I think you could still find some sort of core essence which is why stuff from BTW is still getting trotted out on tiktok to this day. Whereas here...I just don't get this feeling like there's a core these influences are revolving around. and maybe there is! I do think a lot of this comes from her taste, but it feels like they feel the need to stunt and show their homework rather than show who Addison herself is. I have zero idea who she is from this (or feel like im being sold one either)
