It's not a feminist plight; she just has 0 clue about how to garner good pr. Heck, Thinking of You is a tiktok HIT right now. She could have very easily come into fickle people's good graces. She just keeps doing one dumb thing after the next lol always a foot in the mouth moment from her the last 5 years.

I’m still stunned that when she performed TOY she used it as an opportunity to make fun of the trend  She really has the worst PR instincts

When you think you're the internet's most hated person, it's never a good idea to publicly say it. It just gives people the cue to say "go cry in your mansion." She could turn things around so easily by making good music and apologising for past mistakes but she just doesn't get it. Her PR team does her no favours either and don't seem to be aiding her in how to present herself. She just makes gaffe after gaffe every time she speaks. I just saw footage for the first time today of her just before going into space where she said that the front of the capsule is the outline of a feather and she thought it was a sign as her mum calls her Feather and that the capsule's name being Tortoise was also a sign because it's her mum's other nickname for her. She even put up a screenshot of her mum's messages where she called her those names to prove it. There's some nicknames that might give the haters even more fuel. I don't know how there can be this much cringe in one person.

To act like she's just being undeservedly and mindlessly hated on just shows how unaware she is. From being weirdly mean to American Idol contestants, to shading women in the industry, to throwing pizza at her fans, to working with men accused of sexual misconduct...the call is coming from inside the house. This is stuff she can stop doing. Stuff she can change. But she carries on. And her team don't seem to care. They should care as it's affecting their profits but they just seem to let her do whatever with no attempts to help her. A part of me wonders if this is what some labels want when  one of their artists starts spiralling downward and it's decided there's no chance of recovering their career: just let them get worse and worse so you can drop them eventually as it costs more to keep them. If that's indeed the case, it's sad that Katy can't seem to notice that.

The ultimate thing that feminism teaches is that women are also PEOPLE. And like all people, we aren't perfect and should be held to the same standards as men. We don't want to be treated with kid gloves just because we're women. Being a woman doesn't make you immune to criticism. Bullying is not the same as criticism. We've been giving Katy constructive criticism for years now and she's doesn't take it in. Her being a woman is irrelevant. As long as no one's giving her grief for being female, there's no sexist reason behind it.
